Jessie picked up Quinn from her house at noon. Just in time apparently for the lunch that Marge had just finished. Jessie noticed Quinn seemed a little on edge. Not awkward because she didn't know what to do about the kiss but overall just less chipper than normal. After lunch, while planting flowers, Jessie decided to mention her sudden mood change. When she spoke it seemed to pull Quinn out of her little world she was in.
"What's going on in that head of yours Quinn?" She asked lightly with a smile. Quinn's eyes widened at the question.
"I don't really want to talk about it. Especially with you." Quinn said and looked down to the hole she was digging.
"Well, geez, thanks a bunch for that." Jessie said with a humph.Quinn looked up and frowned. Then her expression softened.
"I'm sorry. It's just that we kissed last night." Quinn said as she sat from her kneeling position and brushed the dirt from her blue jeans. Jessie looked into the distance and couldn't help but admit that Marge's place was even more beautiful in the daytime. She didn't mind one bit spending time with her. She had even grown quite fond of the time they had.
"So a kiss puts you in a foul mood?" Jessie asked as she also sat down. She pulled her knees against her chest and rested her head on her knees. She frowned.
"Oh. No. I mean I wasn't saying that's the reason that I am acting weird. I am just saying that's why I can't talk to you about it." She said with a half smile. Jessie bit her lower lip in contemplation.
"I want you to know that I am first off your friend. No matter what happens between us." She said with a genuine smile. Quinn looked unsure.
"Alright. Well. Gage came over to my place last night after you left. She was crying and more than a little drunk. So I let her crash on my couch. I mean. Nothing happened. But I feel this connection you know? We dated for so long. I don't want to be with her. I just can't help feeling more than a little sad about the situation." Quinn said with a look that reeked of depression." Jessie sympathized with Quinn. She had a few girlfriends that tended to press all the right pity buttons and make her feel like the bitch when they were the ones at fault.
"Don't let her drag you down. She knows just what to do and say to guilt you back together with her. And trust me when I say that she will eventually get you if you don't let her know right now that there is no chance in hell that you will ever get back with her. You have to put your foot down and look for happiness and not settle for security. And I am not just saying this because I want to date you." Jessie smiled as she drew a small laugh from Quinn.
"I know you are right. It's just hard to tell her no. She knows me so well. Better than anyone else. I just am not sure what I want at this point. I have to have some time to think." Jessie frowned.
"We haven't even started dating and already you need a break from me? Nice." Jessie said with a smile trying to break the tension. Quinn seemed like she was about to cry. "No worries okay? I'm still here for you no matter what you decide." Jessie said and leaned over to pull Quinn into a hug. She squeezed her tightly sensing that more than ever she just needed someone stable in her life. Jessie was more than happy to be the shoulder for her. She pulled out of the hug after a minute and Quinn seemed to hesitate and then she leaned in to kiss Jessie's lips softly and sweetly. It made Jessie sigh. "You make me so hot." Jessie said with a laugh. Quinn laughed.
"I feel the same way." Quinn said with a genuine grin. Jessie couldn't help but feel for the girl.
"Feel like going home?" Jessie asked. Quinn smiled.
"I think I would like to hang out here with you and Marge. You both are pretty awesome." She said with a smile and began to plant flowers again.
