"what are you doing here?" june spoke quietly. the question was inaudible to the curly haired boy who was across the famous square. she slid the rose gold phone down her pale cheek. her arms hung loose. she was shocked.

wyatt walked to his love slowly. he was unsure what to say to her. he knew he messed up. june took the boys breath away. she was beyond beautiful.

chosen, creeped away from june. he knew wyatt had been planning this for a while. although, him coming to visit june was not part of it. chosen wanted to see his friend, it just so happened to fall on this day. elizabeth looked at him with wide eyes. the dark haired boy only shrugged.

elizabeth retreated behind june as well. she walked backwards, flipping her hair onto her back. her expression was angry, for wyatt had treated june poorly. her heart was warmed by the fact that wyatt showed up unannounced. elizabeth knew that her best friends boyfriend truly cared about her.

june shook her head side to side. unable to process what was happening. the curly haired boy came closer to her. she stood there, arms limp, stunned. she tried to move her legs, but they didn't seem to move.

wyatt finally reached her. he hesitantly snaked his arms around her small waist. she placed her arms around his neck, curled her fingers in his hair.

"i guess i'm not as mad as i used to be," she mumbled into wyatt's shoulder. "how long are you here for?" the short girl released her grip and looked at the boy in front of her.

"however long chosen is staying." wyatt shoved his arm in his friends direction to point him out. chosen continued to stand far away.

"you two planned this?" june shouted at the boys around her.

"don't look at me," chosen raised his hands up in defense. "i came here to hang with you and wyatt told me about his idea."

"i had to come see you," wyatt gave his girlfriend a sympathetic smile. "i love you, june."

"you could have answered my texts every once and a while." june scoffed.

elizabeth walked closer to the pair. she crossed her arms as she stopped about two feet from june.

"right," elizabeth spoke, "i'm backing my girl up on this one. no way you were that busy."

"i know, i know. it was just hard to balance everything." wyatt tried to reason.

"i get that." june smiled at the boy.

elizabeth furrowed her eyebrows at her best friend. she yanked her arm back towards her. away from wyatt.

"what?" the blonde girl whisper-yelled.

"i don't want you settling for something less than you deserve." liz told june. she didn't believe what she was saying- she thought the two deserved each other. her defense side was kicking in.

"i think i'll be fine." june gave her friend a genuine smile before returning to wyatt.

wyatt grinned. he put his hands on her hips, pulling her closer to him. june put her hands on his cheeks, kissing him. it has been a while since she did that.

the breeze started to pick up, the two remained attached. june's nose grew red due to the november air. wyatt rubbed her freezing shoulders in attempt to warm her.

wyatt was in her cold city.
