A/N: This is the chapter that I have been really wanting to write and I'm really glad that I did! It is by far my favorite part and I hope that you like it!

Chapter Fourteen

“Are you coming?” Liz yelled, impatiently.

“Yes, I’m coming, Ms. Impatient!” Winnie said, laughing at Liz’s eagerness to leave. “We have plenty of time,” I reassured her as added the finishing touches to my dress.

“It looks gorgeous,” Liz said, and Winnie could tell that she meant it.

 “Thanks,” Winnie said, smiling.

Liz led the way down the halls, making all the correct turns and navigating her way through perfectly. She took them right out to the courtyard, where a nice caravan was waiting for them. Winnie loved the feeling of being able to leave the castle. Staying there for weeks, even months at a time without leaving was enough to drive one to be stir crazy.

The sun was just starting to set, right about the time we would be dining back at the castle. Winnie looked over and saw Liz having a mental panic attack and saying, ‘we are going to be late!’

“When does it start?” Winnie asked, even though she full well knew.

“Just a little after dining time. When the sun is setting and is about in the middle of the sky,”

“We will be fine,” Winnie said, now ignoring her continuing panic attack, for she knew it would do no good.

For the next half an hour Liz and Winnie sat in the caravan and rode to the fair. “What am I to expect from this?” Winnie asked, trying to depict what the whole fair thing even was. It couldn’t just be knights.

“It’s held by the church. It’s that one day every couple of months or so when the whole town is invited to… the fair. There will be food there, made from the church, troubadours, priests, and sometimes there will be a little ceremony in the church for young babies. They will probably have a mass there too.”

Winnie nodded, surprised that this type of thing even existed. She remembered being a little girl and going to church. She always begged her mother to go. Mother tried to stay away from the church, for she could not afford to give them the money that they wished for. Winnie still remembered getting dressed up in her finest clothing, all excited to go to church.

“Sounds fun…” Winnie said, imaging it all in her head.

“It’s a really fun time. The main attractions are probably the church masses and ceremonies and the troubadours.”

 “What about the knights?”

“Not many go over to see them. They are under such tight orders. It seems like they are there to practice and practice only. Sure some men will linger around them, but that’s only for politics and boring stuff.”

“Are you sure we can meet one?”

“Meet who? A knight? Yeah, I’m positive you can meet one. I’m the princess. If I don’t get what I want, well who ever stops me won’t be around much longer. All’s it takes is to tell father, and he will take care of it. Remove him from the position he is in and that will be that.” She said with a smile on her face. “Look! We are here!”

Winnie was astonished to see such a beautiful town. So many people were there, just mingling and talking amongst one another. Then the squires came into view. They were blocked off practicing. Then came the church. It was the most amazing thing Winnie had ever seen. It was big and gorgeous, and very well taken care of. The stained glass windows were beautiful. The outside was mostly made of stone, but that just added to its beauty.
