She waits anticipatedly as I plate some scrambled eggs and toast on an Ikea plate.
I give her the plate whilst I go plate my own. "Why aren't you eating?"
"I'm waiting for you", she responds.
"You don't have to. I can hear your stomach grumbling from here"
"Its actually the big intestine that's making that sound. Shouldn't you know that ,medic student?", she responds slyly, trying to mask her own embarrassment
"Correction, former medic student. My major is business now you know"
"Yeah, yeah. Now hurry up and sit your butt down. I'm hungry" she swings her feet like a little kid when she says that. Totally not adorable.
I take my seat directly across from her.
"There, now will you eat?"
She gives a smile that one would describe as pure contentment, happiness, joyful, other sunshiny words. But unlike all the other sunshiny smiles I've seen (may it be fake or not), hers has something peculiar. Despite the overly bright, almost blinding rays her smile emits, her smile has a warmth to it, a sense of coziness and closeness yet calming and cool. Like a campfire cabin. Yeah. A campfire cabin.
"Oh my gog." She says with her mouth half full "Adi, you should cook more yknow."
"Like seriously, why are you bothering taking business, just go to culinary school and get a restaurant and be the next Gordan Ramsay or something", she takes another bite.
"Sheweously", her attempt of saying seriously in a serious manner with a mouthful of scrambled eggs and sausages.
"Are you sure you're not just telling me to go to culinary school so you would have an excuse to get me to cook for you?"
She looks stunned for a moment before averting her eyes. "N-no."
"Nice try. A for effort." I give a gesture of a clap.
"Shut up" she kicks (more of like flail actually) her legs vicariously and hits my shin. In response, I lift her chair up with the balls of my feet pushing her upwards from below her chair. This action startles her and causes her body to freeze.
"A-ADI! P-P-PUT ME DOWN IM GONNA F-FALL"
What a sight.
"ADIII" she whines half whining half terrified.
I give a slight grin.
