Chapter 1

Ana POV

It's been 5 years since that fateful night when a brunette woman crashed into our SUV drugged and took Christian from me. I still remember that night like it was yesterday, we were coming back from GEH where I had moved an office on one of the floors for the businesses I run now since I took over Elena's companies. It had been almost a year since the twins were born and I had Gail prepare a special dinner to tell Christian something very important. It was Christian and I along with Parker. Teddy and Hailey had colds and we didn't want Parker to catch it if we could help it. So Taylor stayed behind to help Gail with the children and since things had been quiet we didn't have security with us. Big mistake, one I never made again.

Christian was driving on the road home, Parker playing with her feet living the simple life when a large older van came barreling into us on my side. I hit my head but not enough to disable me. This woman was pulling Christian from the car after injecting him with something, dragging him to the van. I managed to get to the back seat and notice Parker isn't there. I get out and go towards the van. "Stop this give me my family back. You can't have them". The woman turned to look at me, laughed and took out a gun. She shot me 3 times once in each shoulder then once in the knee. "Look like I can Mrs. Grey. Don't worry I'll take care of my man, I always knew what he needed anyway". She got in the van and drove off leaving me there. After the last time, I was abducted Christian had a panic alarm installed into my watch, which would inform our security of me being in need. I pressed it and waited for them to arrive. I stayed conscious as long as I could but I don't remember how I got to the hospital.

I woke up with Taylor sitting beside me looking worried and scared. He notices I'm awake "Ana what happened? Where is Mr Grey and Parker? We couldn't find them anywhere". I sigh "You won't, one of his subs abducted them then shot me to make sure I either died or couldn't come after them. She drugged him and probably took Parker to ensure he behaves". Tears slowly run down my cheek. "I thought the drama was done that we could live our lives. Taylor we need to find them". "I promise you Ana we will find them no matter what it takes". I nod and lay my head back down as the doctor enters the room. "Mrs Grey I'm Dr Cho your security brought you in from an accident and apparently a shooting. We did preliminary blood work and it's a good thing we did. Were you aware your 10 weeks pregnant"? "I knew I was pregnant just not how far along. I was going to tell my husband tonight but we got rammed into and he was abducted with my 1 year old daughter". "Yes Mr Taylor mentioned they weren't with you so an Amber alert has been issued nationwide. We do this anytime a minor is missing for longer than 30 minutes". I nod "So what's the verdict doctor". She sighs "You were shot 3 times the shoulder shots were in muscle and we stitched them up, but the knee was blown out. We can't do surgery until after you give birth. You'll be in an electronic wheelchair until its safe to reconstruct it. The bullet was removed, but we can't fix it". I nod "So that means I need to be in a brace and keep it immobile for the next 7 months then"? "That's correct you'll need someone around to help you until we fix that knee". "When can I go home"? "I don't see why you can't go now....just be careful and no weight on that knee". Taylor gets the wheelchair and takes me to the car, to take me home.

We get into the car, "I called Mr Grey's father and mother and they will meet us at the house". I nod not looking forward to having to explain what happened. We arrive at the house and seeing his car in the driveway makes tears well up in my eyes. I just can't believe that Parker and Christian aren't going to be in the house when I get there. Taylor carries me into the house and places me on the couch. Gail comes out and give me a gentle hug. "My gosh Ana are you ok"? For the first time since all this happened I break down. I sob until I can't sob anymore. Gail being the motherly woman she is held me as I cried, offering me whatever solace she could. "He's gone Gail, one of those subs took him and Parker. I tried to stop her and she shot me leaving me for dead. I don't know what to do". "Well we will inform the police that an ex took him and Parker. Put out bulletins for him and our angel. We will find them". I nod hoping she's right but knowing I will probably never see them again. "Gail I'm going to need extra help, they can't fix my knee for a while and I can't walk on it. We need to hire a nanny to help you out plus I need to work from home for the next year or so". "And why didn't they just reconstruct your knee? Isn't it something fairly simple nowadays"? I sigh "Yes it is, but they generally don't do major surgery on pregnant women too much of a risk". Gail hearing this began to cry "That was the reason for the dinner tonight"? I can't speak but nod my head. She hugs me again then hears Hailey cry, goes to see what she needs. Hearing my daughter cry tears at my heart wondering if Parker is crying for me if she's hungry or cold. I just hope this bitch takes care of my angel.
