Ana POV
To be lost inside of your mind is a terrifying thing. I can hear all that is going on around me, yet I can't do anything about it. I know I'm at the hospital thanks to some good samaritans seeing me besides the road. Mom is the doctors who treated me, got me sent up to a burn unit. I have to say hearing that you have facial burns and burns on your arm are scary, especially when it's shoots around your head repeatedly. Then mom trying to figure out if I was me...meaning my face isn't the same anymore. I am upset by this because what if Christian no longer loves me because I don't look like me? What if I am too hideous and scare my children? But I hear mom talking to Taylor and the detective, thank goodness those kind people relayed my garbled message to mom. Taylor understood what I was trying to say, told the detective and something is being looked into. Finally someone will pay for doing this. I can't believe Elena is so pathetic to do this, trying to kill me so Christian will be with her? How much has she lost her marbles?
Taylor called Christian down to the hospital, mom hasn't told anyone but Taylor and the detective that I'm me. I can't believe that man tried making everyone believe I was dead. I think that bastard was going to hide me somewhere and do unspeakable things to me. Thank goodness I got away from him and hid in plain sight. I only hope Christian didn't believe I was dead, cause that might hurt my feelings a bit. I can't wait until I can wake up and actually speak for myself because before I passed out, something funny was going on with my eyes and I need the doctors to make sure they are fine or figure something out to fix it.
Christian POV
I am leaving the house to go and see my mother at the hospital for God only knows what reason. I know she's concerned about me but Taylor assures me that's not the reason why I'm going. I'm hoping so because I have too much going on in my mind and pestering the detective to get answers as soon as humanly possible.
I arrive at the hospital, and the nurses direct me to the burn unit. This is somewhere where the most painful and debilitating cases there are. As I reach my destination, I see my mother at the nurses desk waiting for me. I give her a curious look but hug her just the same. "Christian thank you for coming down. What I need to discuss with you is private. Would you follow me my dear"? I nod looking at her strangely. "Mom what is going on here? Taylor said it was important". She nods "Just come with me Christian. I would never steer you wrong". We enter a patient room and I see Taylor standing inside the door, looking stalwart. "Ok mom we're in privacy. What is going on that we are disturbing a patient". She sighs look at the woman in the bed Christian". I look at the woman and aside from her face being burnt, there are a lot of similar features to my Ana. I don't want to think of that right now. "So you brought me here to show me a woman who is similar to my deceased wife? How can you be so cruel"? Mom shakes her head at me "Christian you are a typical male. So obtuse. That my dear boy is your wife". I look at mom like she has lost her mind. "So the woman has said she is Anastasia Grey"? "No dear she's in a coma. But I did some detective work and learned her identity". "How can you be so sure mother? Until the words come from her, she could be anyone".
She smacks the back of my head "You truly feel this way? Then go and I'll take care of my daughter in law. Taylor will be here also". I shake my head "How can you know if she hasn't said it mother"? Mom is angry "Did you forget she had a hip and knee replacement? How do you think manufacturers inform a doctor of a defect or problem with a specific model"? I think "There's a registered serial number and patient information attached. What's that have to do with this"? Mom smacks her own head now "Taylor are you sure this man runs a multi billion dollar company, because for a smart man he's being stupid"? I look at Taylor and he just chuckles and answers for her "Mr Grey your mother didn't have to explain it this detailed before myself and detective Clarke figured it out quicker than you are. Since Ana had joint replacement surgery, she has materials with serial numbers registered to her. Your mother x-rayed this woman to see if she even had similar issues. She does and then she confirmed that the numbers matched both on the chart and manufacturer. This woman is indeed Ana Grey sir. She's shown the detective and myself proof. The X-ray the numbers and the chart. Ana isn't down in that burnt out car. She is right here by the grace of God and good samaritans". Mom looks at Taylor "Thank you Taylor. I thought I raised a brighter boy than this".
