Ch 28: shark bait

Blurri POV

The front door opens slowly, my eyes dart to the small gap between the door and it's frame, a flat black smudge starts to make its way into the main room, "ah fuck" I whisper, not taking my eyes off the weird shadow. It stops immediately, I slowly reach towards my staff. "Eli!!" I call and quickly grab my staff, I swing for the black dot, it moves like a cat, hiding under the couch.
"Are you okay?" Eli rushes into the lounge, he looks at me quite worried once he sees I'm about to give the couch a beating. He's in a black towel "Is the couch okay?" He asks, leaning on the wall.
"Something came from the door" I smile and drop my staff,
"What did the thing look like?" He asks, walking over to the couch, as he comes closer I notice his hair is wet,
"Uh..." I couldn't think at this point "were you in the shower? Like, just then?" I ask, only now realising the towel is the only thing he's wearing I had to stop for a moment,
"I mean, I just got out of the shower" he gives me a weird look before kneeling down on the floor to look under the couch
"sting ray shadow" the only words that I could form at this time, fuck why am I such an idiot?
"Ok-ayyyy?" He questions, stretching the word out, he looks under the couch then to me. "It's a girl" he sits back up and lifts the couch, it is a girl! She's cute, she sits up, pulling a blanket over her, using it like a cloak. Eli squeals a little, a sound that I've never heard before.
"Is Franki back?" He asks, he looks like a child who just got a new toy... well, he basically just did.
"No, I really think we should wait though. She could be really dangerous" I pick up my staff,
"What?! Where's the fun in that?!" He shouts and grab the girls arm, he pulls her up and drops the couch, "I'm Eli, I'm kinda the top dog here" he takes her hand and shakes it, he then immediately spins her around to face me "This is Blurri, she's my boy" he smiles at me,
"oh god" I sigh,
"Why'd you attack me?" The new female asks, her deep blue eyes start to turn black,
"This isn't my home?" I question myself. "It feels unfamiliar"
"Right" she suddenly sinks into the floor, into the black smudge.
"See!" I point to the blob that's now moving down the hall,
"Holy shit" Eli gapes, "wheres she going?" His expression changes, I run towards the hallway entrance, she's heading right for Naomi's room.
"Naomi didn't go to the beach" I turn my head to Eli, his eyes widen,
"Fuck" he runs to the hallway, then into his room,
"What do you think your doing?" I shout, banging on his door, I keep my eyes on the sneaky shadow.
"I need to get dressed, I can't catch shit if I'm in a towel!" He shouts back, sounding rushed. The blob goes under Naomi's door,
"Eli you might want to think about hurrying up, she's in Naomi's room now!" I call, gripping my staff. Eli's door opens, he's dressed in his normal plaid shirt and ripped skinny jeans. He grabs his chainsaw and starts slowly making his way towards the pink hell.
"What is your chainsaw going to do to a shadow?" I whisper angrily,
"What's a fucking stick going to do?" He whispers back,
"It's a light staff!" I correct him, "we're getting off topic, we need to catch this shadow"
Eli nods as he approaches the pink painted door. He grabs the handle slowly, I stand beside him, my weapon ready to go.

He opens the door hard, letting it swing open. I blink a few times to make sure I'm seeing properly. The few tv's that we're on lit up the room barely,
"Fuck yeah!" Eli shouts, "point to Vicki" he laughs a little.
The two girls untangle themselves, Vicki turns to us as she wipes her mouth.
"Nice" Naomi speaks from under Vicki,

"Well, as much as I'd love to stay, we're shadow hunting" Eli scratches the back of his head,
"She's below the one" Naomi speaks again, pointing to the console on the ground.
"What the actual fuck" the new girls voice comes from under the Xbox. "How did you know I was in here?" She asks, coming out from her hiding spot and changing back to her human form.
"Okay, can we have this yarn later?" Vicki ushers us out of the room,
"Sure Vicki, catch up" Eli smiles and starts to go back to the lounge, "c'mon new girl, Franki will be home soon, you don't want to piss her off"
