Ch 36: new hair new me?

"How is it knowing you're his favourite?" Vicki stands behind me, looking over my shoulder to the crying Eli in my arms. "He'd never admit it..." she trails off.
"He cares for all of us the same, he knows how far he can push us" I run my fingers through his hair, still shushing the young man.
"He said the L word" Vicki's voice cracks a little. She's upset?
"He-" I start, then remember the pet name he called me. My love. I clear my throat, "that wasn't Eli"
"Sure did sound like it" Naomi joins in,
"You two sure do like causing trouble" I sigh, noticing the duo high five behind me.

"If I had known that's all it took for her to die, shit" Naomi laughs a little, Eli immediately stops his silent crying and looks up at the small girl,
"She laughs?" Was all he could say, as if his grieving had stopped as soon as the small girl giggled. Eli stands up, lifting me to my feet also.
"I meant everything I said to you Mei" he holds my hand. "But I need to do something, to help myself"
I nod, watching him let me go, he turns to Vicki, handing her the broken horn and hair.
"I need you to make a tea out of these. Add a few things to make it taste better" Vicki places the hair inside the horn vessel then heads to the kitchen.
"No one say her name" Eli looks at everyone, still in the lounge, they all nod. "We're not sure how long we're going to have this time"
It's not everyday that Franki dies. But this is new, who knew Eli could handle the house so well. As if he had his own harem...

Vicki comes back, handing Eli the devils curled horn. A steaming liquid resembling oil inside the vessel, the smells even worse than it looks.
"Wait Eli!" I call, putting my hand over the new cup,
"It's fine Mei" he takes my hand just like before, "I'll be fine" he faces me and smiles. He lifts the beverage to his lips and chugs it down, then stabs the vessel into his chest. My eyes widen,
"Eli!" I call again, I begin to heal him, trying to pull the sharp object away from him, he just pushes me away. Confusion taking over, I fall to the floor. Eli falls too, landing on his knees he begins to cough and gag. He takes my hand and stares in my eyes,
Everything will be okay.
His hair starts to turn red, blood red. Small strands of blonde hair fall around him as the new mop of hair makes it's new home.
He stands up, holding his hand out to me. I stare in disbelief, he's healed. He's confident. Is this the same Eli?
I take his hand and he pulls me up instantly, pulling me into a kiss. His arms wrap around me, pushing me against his body as I kiss back.

"Yuck!" Vicki yells, interrupting the sparks and fireworks all around us.
Eli smirks, "later my love" he whispers, placing another kiss on my lips and pulling away. My body leans in for more, his touch left a hot tingle on my skin.
"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that!" He yells, pumping a fist into the air.
"Whatever assbag" Naomi pipes up, pushing Eli playfully, "let's see what you got" she gets into a fighting stance,
"I'll take you and yo mamma on!" Eli points to kali, she smiles and growls at the same time. shes excited?
"That's suicide Eli!" I shout, trying to pull the boy away from the fight,
"Mei, please. It's cute that you care, but this isn't the first time this has happened"
His words shock me, "the first time it was her blood"
"It seemed to unlock some sort of power" Kali explains,
"She's been locking him away all these years. We want to help him become the Eli he was made for" Naomi joins in,
"You're idiots! She's done that for a reason! If he has all his power, he'll die! His body is too small" I shake my head, remembering the first encounter with Franki

~flashback~

"I'm in need of an angel" the dark figure spoke,
"Angels can not help the likes of you, you're lucky you were able to speak to me" I reply, the figure scowls in response.
"You are the only being powerful enough to help this child"
My eyes widen, a child?
"Go on" I fold my arms,
"I've seemed to have created a baby, the soul of a perfect balance" the darkness starts, her voice becoming a lot more calmer. "But I've given him the body of a human"
"The body won't be able to harvest any power. Why would you give that to a human?" I ask, noticing the devils flaws
"Because humans are the most powerful in emotional aspects. He will be able to befriend any beast, no matter the race. He will also be able to destroy"
She's definitely not wrong. "So why do you need me?"
"I need him to have a good aspect to his life, I need him to have an angel. Or he will destroy himself if he becomes unbalanced"
"I will save this child"
~end flashback~~

Eli

"If I die, then I die. But I want to know who I am" I take Mei's hand, her panic leaves.
"Eli you have no idea what you're capable of" she places a hand over mine, she kisses my forehead. A warm feeling takes over my body.
"If you're going to do this, then you're going to need something from me" she looks deep into my eyes, my heart skips a beat when her beautiful blue eyes meet mine.
She leans in and hugs me, "I want you to make love to me, Eli" she whispers and kisses my neck. My whole body freezes, the words I'd never thought I'd hear from my angel.
"Are you sure?" I ask, still trying to figure out if this is real or not. She nods,
"Yes Eli, I want you"
