Ch 24: your guardian angel

"We're getting Mei back" Franki states, sitting down at the table with a coffee, she motions for Connor to sit in front of her. He complies and pulls out the seat, I kiss Harriette on the forehead before walking over to the table.
"Hold up" I frown, throwing my hands onto the wood. "You're saying you could have brought her back at anytime? That she isn't actually dead?!" I quickly grow angry, Franki sips her coffee slowly,
"Yup" she replies with the same anger I threw at her
"What the actual fuck Franki" I slam my hands on the table again, "all this time, the shit I put myself through. You watched me suffer while you knew the whole time" I try not to get too emotional around the other male in the house.
Yeah, Tobias isn't much of a male, more of a field mouse or some shit. Harriette starts laughing, she stops when Franki shoots her glare.
"You find his pain funny?" She questions the new female, she shakes her head and holds out a hand while holding back a laugh,
"You don't understand" she manages to say before choking on another laugh, I smirk a little at the fact I made her laugh this hard. "Who is the field mouse?" She stands up, walking over to the table with the rest of us,
I snicker slightly "pale blue and dark purple door" I motion down the hallway to Tobias's room. She nods and heads down the long hallway.

I notice the gap where Meis room use to be, "so how are we going to fix that?" I ask, feeling a lot calmer. I don't take my eyes away from the empty plot.
"Guess we will just have to figure that out" Franki breathes as she cracks her fingers and knuckles,
"No idea what he has to do with this, but I'm in" I look at Connor as I sit down beside Franki,
"Mei left a part of her soul inside Connor, I don't know how she managed that, but somethings are better left unsolved" she puts her hands on the table stretched out in front of her. "May I?" She raises a non existent eyebrow at the Saiyan. He looks from her hands to her face,
"I'll take his place!" I shout, shooting my hands straight up in the air. Franki scoffs and looks at Kali,
"Please don't kill me" I shuffle my chair back slightly as Kali makes her way over to me,
"I need complete peace Eli" Franki closes her eyes, I nod furiously, zipping my lips. I watch as Connor takes Frankis hands, much to my displeasure, this must happen. Gonna get my guardian angel back.

Franki and Connor start to glow, I've seen this before, she done this with one of her old boyfriends. Jerome.  Connor starts to wince, he goes to pull back but Franki grips both of his hands tight.

~Now that I'm strong I have figured out
How this world turns cold~

Suddenly Connors aura becomes more dominant, glowing a bright yellow. Is he planning on fighting Franki? I look at Kali, hoping she would step in. She glances at me, then goes back to the bright glow beside me.

~And it breaks through my soul and I know
I'll find deep inside me
I can be the one~

Frankis hair starts to lift off the ground, her dark red glow turning to a black ink, I move away quickly, hoping to not get consumed by the 'darkness'. The ink like substance suddenly covers the two, locking them in a tomb of night.

I'll stand up with you forever~

I shake my head, not liking what's going on. I can't see either of them. What if this is what he wanted. He's taken Mei, so why not Franki too, right? I bite my lip, "fuck" I mutter and dive into the bubble of black.

~I'll be there for you through it all
Even if saving you sends me to heaven~

I tackle Connor off the chair and out the other side of the ink, I punch him in the face "What the fuck man" I punch him again, he flings his head forward and head butts me square in the nose, the pain shot up my face. I fall back, holding my nose.
"I didn't do anything" he backs up, pulling himself to sit up, he holds his left cheek. I look behind me, Franki drops a lilac blob to the ground, it dissolves into the carpet, leaving something that resembles a burn in the floor. I rush over to the dark spot and feel it, it's still warm.
"Did you do it?" I look up to Franki, she sips at her coffee and pulls out a cigarette. "Please tell me that's a victory smoke" I stand up, still facing her. She nods and points to the front door, it opens revealing the most beautiful angel I've seen, she stumbles into the house.
I freeze instantly, her blue dress tattered and torn. It also looks a bit burnt.
I glare at Connor again, "couldn't even look after her, could you?" I growl, he doesn't look away from Mei.
"Eli" Mei whispers before falling to the ground, I rush over to her and begin helping her up, "no" she pushes me away, her touch feels different. I step away, this isn't my Mei.
Her wings stretch out and starts moving, helping her back in her own feet.
"I knew you'd find me" she reaches out to touch me, I pull away. Really confused. She looks like Mei, even sounds like her.
"What did you do?!" I shout at Connor, he stands up and leans against the kitchen bench.  "This isn't her!" I yell again, louder this time.
"Stop it Elijah" Franki flicks her smoke butt at me, "she's the closest you're going to get. She is still the same, but she's been in limbo for a while, that shit will change you" Franki lights another smoke. I look back to Mei,
"I'm stronger now" she raises her shoulders,
How am I supposed to respond to that?

"Sister!" Kali wails, pulling Mei into a big hug, Mei hugs her back, both of their wings wrap around each other.
"Well... this is cute and all..." Connor starts making his way to the front door,
"Don't think you can get away that easily" Mei giggles, separating her from Kali, she glides over to him, pulling him into a hug. She whispers something, then kisses him. His arms wrap around her small waist as the kiss deepens. I had to look away,
"It's not really her" I mutter under my breath, clenching both my fists.
"You might like this one better" Franki puts a hand on my shoulder,  "besides, you probably won't have time for her anyways" she kisses my cheek and walks to my room
"Huh?" I question, watching her walk away.

"Guys, I'm back!" A different voice calls, the front door closing soon after. I turn around and look at the front door,
"Blurri?"

Talk about a family reunion...
