Just the Usual High School Love

Chapter 30

ANN'S P.O.V.

I wake up with my face smudged into the pillow, droll soaking it and my cheek. I rub my eyes and swing my body up to have my hair stick staright up off the top  of my head. Ugh bed-head.

I look at my clock "1:30" it says and for a second I whine thinking it is 1:30 in the morning, but when I turn the other way to have the sun bleed through my curtains and straight into my eyes I am thankful. Except now I have a headache from the sun basically smacking me in the face.

I haven't slept in this long in forever and I am thankful I got a FULL night and half the days sleep and that my mom didn't wake me for school. Lord knows I needed that sleep. 

I straighten out my clothes and my hair and walk down the stairs to find my mother still home. "Mom why aren't you at work?" I say when she looks up at me, worry showing on her face.

"Well I didn't think it was a great idea leaving you home alone... Oh! and the boys stopped by to visit you but you weren't awake. They of course visited seperately. These," my mother pointed to the flowers at the kitchen table, "Are from Chad and his mother. Brendan just came by to visit he didn't have anything for you." My mother informs me. 

I walk over to the kitchen table and smell the absoultely beautiful flowers that are inside my mothers favorite vase. i look at them and find a note under the base of the vase. I scoot it out and begin to read it in my head:

                                      Ann,

          Hope you are feeling well and you have us in your hearts, Mrs. Connel.

Sweet I think and smile down at the note.

Under the vase I see another small slip of paper, I pick it up aswell:

                                 Ann, 

           I miss you lots already. I will visit you everyday until you are able to everything on your own. Can't wait until Saturday at the dance I can already imagine you now, ;) Chad.

Yeah i thought he would leave a note too. I hope my mother only saw Mrs. Connel's. I mean i know there is nothing really embarrassing about Chad's note but I feel like for some reason it is just an invasion of my privacy.

I plop myself down on the couch and grab the remote. The TV flickers on but before I can even see what it is that is on my mother grabs the remote from me. She turns off the TV just as quickly as it was turned on "See this is why I have to stay home with you. You aren't allowed to watch TV, read, do school work, look at your phone,  nothing." my mother says.

I grumble under my breath. Nothing, what am I supposed to do if i can't do...well anything?

At least it's already 1:00, I can find something to busy me while I wait for Chad, or  Brendan, or Krista, just any human contact besides my mom. And Jenna.

. . .

It is finally 3:00 and my mom is out picking up some things and doing some shopping. I have been running, well stumbling, around this house for an hour looking for my phone, I need to at least tell people to come over.

I finally find it in the fridge, classy mom. I see that I have 2 texts from Chad, 1 from Brendan and 5 from Krista.

Krista's say:

HEY!

I MISS YOU

I WISH YOU WERE AT SCHOOL
