My eyes flashed open to a cold and dark room that wreaked of rust and machinery.

"Abby?" I heard someone whisper from the cell next to me.
"Damon?" I asked back.

"Thank God you're alive." He sighed in relief.

"Damon, I can't move." I said trying to gain control of my legs. They wouldn't budge.

The cement wall blocked our view of each other, but I knew that Damon was nervous.

"Don't worry Abby, I'll get us out of here." He said banging his hand on the wall impatiently.

Stefan's POV—

"I got there and it was empty. Like someone cleared the whole restaurant." I told Elena confusedly.

"That's so weird." She said pacing around the room.

"Where would they be?" I asked sitting down and feeling my stomach turn.

"We'll find them. I called Bonnie, she's on her way." Elena said rubbing my back calmly.

"Who was Klaus talking about the other night?" Caroline asked storming in.

"That's not what we are focusing on Caroline." Elena scoffed obviously worried for her sister.

"No, he warned Abby about some man named Kai? He wanted her to compel him." Caroline explained.

"Oh my gosh, you're right." Elena exclaimed like a lightbulb turned on in her head.

"I'll go talk to Klaus. You guys wait for Bonnie." Caroline said grabbing her coat and running to her car.

Caroline's POV—

I knocked a few times before barging into Klaus' home.

"Klaus!" I yelled as I walked through the kitchen onto the living room.

"Yes, love?" He asked as he sat calmly on the couch.

"Who's Kai?" I questioned him.

"Why do you want to know?" He asked standing up and looking worried.

"We think he may have taken Abby and Damon." I said looking down.

He nodded and paced around to think.

"Klaus, if you know anything...." I trailed off hopelessly.

"He's a witch with no power on his own. He takes the powers out of other witches and kills them." He explained.

"What? Oh my-" I said grabbing my mouth and thinking of Abby.

"We need to find them, now!" I shouted as I ran to my car.

Klaus joined me as we drove to the Salvatore residence.

Abby's POV—

"Damon, are you okay?" I whispered to him.

He didn't answer but continued pounding on the walls.

"Where are we?" I asked trying to distract him.

"I've been here before. It's the Armory's cellar." He said examining the poles and the hard cement.

"How do you know?" I asked trying to move but failing to do so.

"Good guess?" Kai said sarcastically as he walked towards us.

"Why can't I move?" I screamed at him.

"Oh that's because I put a spell on you." He said with a joking laugh.

"When we get out of here, you better run." Damon snarled to Kai.

He looked at me and immediately I stood up.

"What do you want?" I asked coming to the door of my cell.

"Your power, duh!" He said grabbing my arm but this time I fought back.

He unlocked the door and threw me across the room.

"No! Don't touch her!" Damon screamed at the top of his lungs.

"Damon, I'm fine." I huffed standing up and brushing myself off.

Kai grabbed my hand and squinted at me.

He squeezed harder and harder but nothing happened.

"Why didn't you die last night?" He asked aloud.

"What are you talking about?" I gasped nervously.

"When I suction all the magic out of witches, they die. I don't know how you are still alive." He said shaking his head and walking circles around me.

He then cut open his wrist and examined my reactions.

I felt my fangs poke through as I held myself back.

"That's why." He said wiping the blood away and throwing it into a trash can.

"You are a vampire...so I can't get all of your magic until I stab you with a wooden stake." He said giving himself a pat on the back for figuring it out.

I glanced at Damon who was dying to get out of his cage.

He pulled and pulled at the bars until his hands were bruised, but of course they healed within a few seconds.

I thought of my options on how to get out of here.

I acted fast.

As Kai started to walk near me, I kicked him in the face and grabbed him by the arm and threw him across the room, knocking him out.

I grabbed the keys from his pocket and unlocked Damon's door.

He jumped out and kissed me passionately.

"What was that for?" I asked just realizing that I still had my red dress on from the night before.

"I had missed-" He started to say.

Then I felt something pass over my shoulder and into Damon's heart.

He dropped lifeless onto the floor.

I fell to my knees and felt tears drip down my cheeks.

"Damon!" I screeched picking his head up.

"What did you do?" I yelled at Kai as he walked behind me.

"I put him to sleep." He answered.
