She walks alone, tears streaming down her pale, light freckled face. Her arms are wrapped around herself, though Barbra wasn't cold she still shivers all the same because of how traumatized she is. She stares at the ground, zoned out, as she walks. Whenever someone would stop to ask her if she was okay she'd scream at them to go away.
She walks all the way to the police station, she didn't know if she was going there to tell them what happened or go to see her uncle to talk about it. She pushes through the door and panic immediately fills her insides. She runs to the nearest officer, not to tell them what happened, but to ask where the bathroom is.
She thanks the officer and speed walks the whole way. Luckily, as she arrives she notices it's a single ladies restroom. She locks the door behind her and just by the sound of her breathing she was in a total shock. She walks over to the mirror.
"Oh. Hello," she says to herself, though it wasn't really her. Barbra blinks at the reflection wondering if it was there or not. "Oh c'mon! You ain't gonna respond?" The reflection exclaims.
Barbra shakes her head, trying to make the image go away. "Leave me alone," Barbra says strictly.
"But we haven't had enough fun yet!"
"We've have enough 'fun' already for one day. I don't need you here to remind me of what happened."
"But do I? That ginger was quite somethin'. I was there the whole time, reading your thoughts. I knew exactly what you were thinking, Barbra.""Shut up!" The blonde spins around to screams at the her reflection.
"You were wondering as to why he had invited you to his humble 'home'," Barbra glared at herself, the other half smiling devilishly. "You imagined him putting his hands all over you, kissing your neck, and every other place there possibly was to think of." Barbra sneered heatedly and the other half smiled. It was like looking in a mirror, the type of mirror you saw your worst enemy in."I'm done with your bullshit." Barbra says, unlocking and opening the door.
"I'll see you around sweetheart." She devil blonde replies.
Before running out of the building, Barbra runs into her Uncle. The girl gasps but then wraps her arms tightly around the stick like man.
"Are you all right, kiddo," he asks. She shakes her head 'no' against his chest. "Would you like to talk about it?" She nods her head, words were nonexistent at the time of trauma.—
"So, what's up," asks Ed as he takes a sip of his coffee. "Oh! Also, how was your event at the circus?"
"That's the thing, Ed. That's the thing I wanted to talk to you about. But if I tell you, you can't tell anyone." Barbra demands.
"What if your father finds out, you know he forces things out of me!"Barbra sees her father coming up the stairs from the corner of her eye. Her eyes widen at Ed, they both sit quietly until he said something.
"Hey, B. How ya doing? How was your event?" He asks. Barbra looks at him and smiles.
"It was great, Dad. Though, it wasn't as fun as I expected, but it was an experience." She replies, messing with her hands. He nods his head then looks to Ed.He slaps him on the back, "How've you been, Edster?"
Ed almost drops his coffee. He clears his throat and moves his glasses back into place. "I'm fine, Mr. Lincoln. How are you?"
"I'm great. I've been having a good afternoon, haven't had much to do since the day started," he continues. Ed shakes his head, his lips pursed.
"Well, Dad, if you would let us get back to our conversation I would highly appreciate it." Barbra interrupts with a fake smile spread across her face.
"Anything for you hunny."Barbra's father disappears and it's back to her and Ed.
She shakes her head and let out a sarcastic laugh, "God he can be such a prick sometimes."
Ed laughs, "Can agree on that." They both begin laughing.
Barbra stops to speak, "I just think there's something wrong with me."
"What was that," he asked taking another sip of his drink.
"I don't know. I came in here and I immediately headed to the bathroom. I saw myself, it was like... an evil me started talking. It's told me to do things before, but today was the first day she came back. And she hasn't come back in months! Something happened while I was at the circus. Something horrifying." Barbra's voice cracks in fear. She wraps her arms around herself again, scared.
"Whatever it is that happened, we'll figure it out here at the GCPD."
"O-Okay, Eddie." They both stood up and hug.Barbra eventually left. When leaving, she could feel all eyes on her like all of these police officers and detectives were seeking the truth from her. Her heart pounds behind the cage of ribs that were supplied to her at birth. Her hands couldn't stop shaking and every step she took it felt like she was going to collapse then and there. She had to go home.
