Chapter 3

"Come on boys, we will leave in the hour." Ned addressed his men while packing trunks for the capital. He, lana, arya and Sansa where going to kings landing as Ned had been appointed hand of the king. Jon was riding to the kings road with them but then turning north for the wall.
Lana came out struggling with a huge trunk, she looked as if she were about to drop it at any moment. Jon saw and rushed to her to help.
"Let me take it." He said
"I'm fine." Lana told him continuing to carry the trunk.
A guard came over to the both of them and lifted it easily onto the Cart.
Lana looked beautiful, she wore a pale yellow dress with gold detailing and her long dark hair fell down her back in thick, glossy strands.
"Lana we need to talk." Jon said leaning back on the cart.
"About what?" She asked sarcastically folding her arms over her chest.
"You have been avoiding me, I don't want us to part like this." He said.
"I'm sorry, I just never thought we would be apart, I never thought you would throw your life away for the damn nights watch." She said frustratedly.
"Uncle Benjin is in the nights watch, you and dad and the girls are going to the capital anyway, what's to stay here for." He asked
"Robb's here, and I'm only going because your leaving, you can do do much better than this Jon." She said desperately.
"I'm sorry but I'm going lana, I hope one day you stop hating me for it." He turned to walk away.
"Your going to regret this you know, you don't know what you are doing." Lana was desperate now, maybe she could still convince him to stay.
He turned back and stared at her.
"I have to do this." He said calmly
"No you don't, your making a huge mistake."
"Like you haven't made enough." He said sharply.
"Wow." She said shocked
"I'm sorry I didn't mean that, I just need to do this." He said softly
"Ok, then do it, but if you do it there's no turning back."
"I know."

The ride to the capital was long and tiring. When the group reached halfway at kings road, it was time for everybody to say their goodbyes.
"Don't you dare loose contact with me, I love you." Lana said hugging John.
"I love you lana." Was all he said, they hugged for what seemed like eternity.
Father hugged him too, it was the most affection lana had ever seen him give. When uncle Benjin and John had gone we all got back onto our horses and left. I cried thinking I would never see my brother again.
