The next morning lana woke up in bed with the sunlight streaming in on her.
She instantly looked beside her for Jamie but he wasn't there, she closed her eyes and she felt like he was making love to her all over again.
When Lana's maids came they brought with them a new dress. She guessed it was from Jamie, she wanted to look as beautiful as possible when he saw her in it.
When she was bathed and dressed one of Jamie's men came in told her they were leaving in the hour, her maids rushed around packing everything up. Before she left she glanced at her reflection in the Mirror. Her red dress showed her stunning figure, her face was flawless and her long, shiny hair fell halfway down her back.
Lana kept waiting for Jamie to come in but he never came, she waited and waited but in the end she stopped hoping he would come and left the tent to get saddled up.
Lana walked along the muddy fields accompanied by Jamie's men, they helped her up on to her own horse and strapped her in. She felt privileged for the sudden independence.
Then finally Jamie rode over to her, he was back in his incredible silver armour and the sun reflected from his golden hair, he took her breath away. There was no trace of the injuries from yesterday or the loving looks he had exchanged with her.
"How are you, I thought you would like your own horse today, it's a long journey." He said trying to act chivalrous.
"Where did you go last night, when I woke up you were gone." Lana ignored what he was saying, she wanted to know why he left her.
Jamie looked around as if seeing whether anyone was listening.
"I had to go back to my tent, it would look suspicious if my men saw that I didn't spend the night in my tent." He said.
It felt like Lana had been stabbed in the heart, why was he being like this, pretending like nothing happened. She thought he cared for her.
"Why do you care what they think?" She questioned him.
"I don't, it's just me and you, it isn't that simple." He said avoiding her gaze.
"Oh so I'm not good enough for you now, is that what your saying." Lana was nearly shouting, she felt so embarrassed.
"No that's not what I'm saying." He was trying to keep her calm.
"Save your lies, I don't care." Lana said, she turned and galloped away trying to stop the tears from coming, to the other side of the forest leaving Jaimie stunned behind her.

It was a long ride to the end of the forest district.
Lana's clothes stuck to her clammy skin and sweat trickled down her face.
She rode towards the back of the army now and Jaimie at the front, she wanted to be as far away from him as possible.
Shame and hurt ate away at her, how could she be so stupid to think that he actually loved her, the only person he ever cared for was himself.
When her horse stopped to eat some grass she heard that silky smooth voice in her ears. She didn't know whether to hit him or kiss him.
"If I didn't know better I would think you are avoiding me." He said, lana had her back to him.
"Well then you don't know anything because I am.' She told him sharply
"Look lana I didn't mean to hurt you."
Lana swung her horse around, she wanted to give him a piece of her mind.
"Yes you did, you knew exactly what you were doing when we made love. I was too stupid to see how wrong it was but that was probably your plan all along, to get me in bed and then leave me." She could feel the sting of tears forming at her eyes, she was determined not to let them fall.
Jamie rode closer to her, his face was apologetic.
"No thats not true, lana I really like you, I do. Yes I knew it was wrong but it felt so right at the time and I listened to my heart. My family and yours hate each other, how could this ever be easy?"
Lana thought about this, she was as much to blame as him.
"I know, it's ok. When we get to the eyrie we will never have to see each other again. We can carry on living our lives and forget we ever happened." Lana didn't want to believe what she was saying was true. But it was.
"Lana please..." He caught her arm as she was about to ride on.
She stared at him for a minute, at that face she had fallen in love with and rode away.

"There it is, the impregnable eyrie."
Ser Lora's said as they finally got away from the woodlands. Everybody stopped and gasped at the sight before them.
It stood there as if it was holding on for dear life on the edge of the hill. The building itself was huge, with stained glass windows and dome shaped roof.
The hill getting up to It looked Impossible however, the road started out wide and then became narrow and dangerously icy. Lana shuddered at the thought of climbing it even on a horse.
"Everybody listen here." Jamie announced from his horse.
"We will have to ride extra hard today to be at the bottom of that hill by nightfall, we will camp over night and set off up the hill at sunrise. I will not lie to you but it is not going to he easy up there, however I know you are All good, trained men so we shouldn't have many problems."
The men broke out in conversation probably about climbing the looming hill.
"Surely the lady won't have to come." One of Jamie's closest men said to him. Lana recognised him as the one who helped her when she was being attacked.
"Thank you for your concern ser but I'm coming, see I have made it all this way and I won't give up now." Lana said assertively.
Jamie studied her face and smiled boyishly. He knew how stubborn she was.
"I don't want you to get hurt lana, some people may even die up there." He sounded concerned. He whispered into her ear, not wanting any of the others to hear.
"Then I will make sure I won't." Lana knew the risks but she wasn't going to let Jamie think she was weak.

That night when they made camp lana didn't have maids to wash and dress her, not like she needed them anyway.
Lana undressed and sat in her tent just thinking about what the hell happened to her life. A year ago she was a rich, highborn girl with a home and siblings that loved her. She had friends and the most important person, Jon. He was her twin and she constantly yearned for him, lana wanted to go to the wall when she was free but she had a feeling that wasn't a good idea.
"I'm not disturbing you am I?" Jamie asked as her entered the tent.
Lana sat up, surprised to see him.
"No not at all, what do you want." She asked him, more harshly than she had meant.
"I just can't stand this" he said.
"What?" Lana played innocent
"Us being at each other's throats, I hate it." He said looking saddened.
"What do you want me to do, that night with you I fell in love with you and then you told me that we would never be together. That's not just something I can forget about." Lana said, trying not to get too upset. .
"And I told you I'm sorry for that, I never meant to hurt you. I fell for you too you know."
"I know, but I obviously fell harder." Lana turned away from him, she didn't want him to see her weak.
"Lana.."
"Jamie just go ok, after we get to lysa and your brother we will not have to see each other again so spare me the explanations." Lana told him bluntly, it was the only way she could speak to him.
Jamie looked sad and then nodded his head.
"Ok, I'll go and leave you be." When he walked out she wanted to Call after him but she couldn't , she hurt to much.
That night she lay in her bed for hours trying to sleep but she never could because every time she closed her eyes she could see his face.
