finn sat lazily on the hotel couch, switching channels on the television now and then.
he felt terribly lazy and there was nothing so interesting as to catch his eye on t.v.
so, he decided to purchase a gift for millie before she was to preform tomorrow.
finn grabbed his dark green bomber jacket, and headed outside.
he remembered vaguely that as they entered the hotel, there was a jewelry store across it. so, the curly-haired boy decided to start from there.
upon entering, a cool wind from the air vents hit his face, making him pull his jacket closer.
"what might you need, young man?" the girl behind the display cases asked him politely.
"uh may i see your selection of necklaces, please?"
"oh of course!" she replied, walking to the corner as finn followed her.
"here are our best sellers." she told him.
finn looked at each one carefully.
"how much is that one?" he questioned, pointing to a necklace that had a lilac geode in the center.
"$400."
finn tried to hide the surprised expression on his face. he assumed it would be at least 36 dollars.
he cleared his throat and straightened his back.
"oh-uh thank you. i'll be back, hopefully soon."
the girl nodded, and finn exited the store.
finn continued to wander the streets, desperate to find something for millie.
just when finn thought all hope was lost, he came across yet another jewelry store.
he hesitated at first upon entering. perhaps it would be like the first jewelry store that he had gone into.
but finn ignored that little voice and stepped inside the store.
he noticed that it wasn't as high quality as the other one he had previously visited, with no glass display cases. the necklaces were simply hung on a rack whilst stationary was spread across the store.
in finn's opinion, he like it more. it had a comfortable aura to it, and it wasn't too cold.
he looked at each necklace, examining them in his hand.
"how much is this one?" finn asked. in his palm he held a rustic looking necklace, with a small compass connected in the
middle.
"$4.50"
he raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"i'll take it." hen announced to the cashier with a bright smile, placing the item onto the counter. the cashier smiled at his sudden reaction, and bagged the item for him.
after purchasing the necklace, finn started for the hotel; a wide grin on his face.
as he arrived at the hotel room, he was greeted by a sudden hug.
"finn! there you are." it was millie, of course."
finn chuckled and kissed her forehead.
"i got you something." he told her.
she pulled away. "really what is it?" millie asked, her brown eyes twinkled in excitement.
finn couldn't believe how utterly lovely she was.
"come on, i'll show you in the room."
finn fished the locket from the plastic bag he held, whilst millie gasped in shock.
"i-its not that great, but-"
finn was interrupted when a pair of lips met his.
"thank you, finn. i love it."
finn smiled bashfully, his cheeks turning red. whilst millie just giggled.
"you're such a dork, wolfhard."
