Rouge left the airship as Shadow and Sonic went back to peep through. Jet stood up and opened the bag. He turned the bag upside down and let the emeralds drop onto the table. Jet smirked as he gathered up all the emeralds in his hands and walked over to a bunch of extreme gears. Using a special cable and device, he connected all the chaos emeralds with his green gear.
The power drained from the emeralds as they super charged the gear. Jet smiled in triumph at the radiant green gear.
"The device and cable you invented actually works, Wave!". The chaos emeralds faded and turned black. Shadow and Sonic gasped.
The emeralds fell on the ground. Jet stood on the gear, full of pride. "Now I will be faster than that blue porcupine once and for all!", Jet started laughing like a maniac. Wave and Storm covered their ears in frustration.
"This is the fourth time he did that laugh", Wave whispered to Storm as Storm nodded in agreement. Jet turned to the both of them, his eyebrow raised. "What was that you said?"
"HEY YOU!"
Wave and Storm were spared explaining to the hawk when Jet was interrupted by a voice from a distance. "Who's there? Show yourself if you dare."
"Oh yes I dare-"
"Sonic, shut up for once will you?" Shadow covered Sonic's mouth.
"Wave, take care of the airship, Storm, keep an eye on the chaos emeralds, I'll go around the airship to spot any unwelcomed guests". Shadow overheard this and turned to Sonic. "Come on, back to the hiding spot". Shadow and Sonic dashed back behind the wall as Jet came out with his glowing green gear and swiftly moved across the corridor. Shadow and Sonic took this as an opportunity to make their grand entrance.
"NOBODY, CALLS ME A PORCUPINE!"
Sonic exclaimed angrily as Shadow rolled his eyes. "Sonic, that's not why we are here." Shadow whispered as he turned to the two rouges.
"Hand over those chaos emeralds. Now." Sonic demanded as Wave reached for them. "Were you two spying on us?" Storm bellowed as Sonic added on, "Isn't it obvious".
"Don't change the subject. Hand them over".
"With pleasure" Wave said as she gave the black chaos emeralds to him. Shadow raised his eyebrows.
"Well you did ask for them" Wave said with a smirk. Shadow gave the emeralds to Sonic as he placed them nicely in the bag. "Tell us how to reverse the process and get the chaos energy back into the chaos emeralds" Shadow asked.
"and why would we ever do that..."
Wave said as she turned around to keep an eye on the controls of the airship. Storm reached for the walkie talkie to inform Jet about the intruders. Shadow immediately shot a chaos spear at the walkie talkie and blasted it to smithereens.
"Well, then I guess we will have to do it by force...", Shadow signaled to Sonic
Sonic instantaneously dashed around both rouges and tied them up tightly with a rope. Wave and Storm struggled to free themselves but to no avail. "ARGH, get us out of here!" Wave exclaimed as Shadow scoffed.
"and why on Mobius would we ever do that"
"You will pay for this. Wait till my boss arrives. Then you two will be kicked out of the airship in no time." Storm threatened. Sonic and Shadow looked at each other and bursted out laughing.
"Oh no Shadow, what are we going to do now? Jet is going to beat us all up"
"I have no idea Sonic, let's call for some help shall we? Help! Help!". Both hedgehogs laughed out loud.
"What's so funny?" Wave asked, crossing her arms as Shadow stopped laughing.
"Listen, I'm the ultimate lifeform. You guys do not stand a chance against me"
"pfft Self-praise!" Storm replied as he laughed. Shadow burned with rage.
Sonic sighed. Here we go again
"You better take those words back" Shadow thundered. "It's okay Shadow, take it easy" Sonic cooled him down. Shadow glared at Sonic. Sonic took his hands off him. Shadow took a deep breath in and out, while still glaring at Storm.
Meanwhile, at Jet...
"Hey this baby's maximum speed is awesome, definitely x7 faster than Sonic!" Jet exclaimed as he felt the wind brush across his face. "I must take a selfie of this awesomeness and post it on facebook, see how many likes and shares I get. Soon the whole of Mobius will get to know who the fastest thing alive is now." Jet laughed like a maniac (that was his fifth time that day). He took out his selfie stick and iPhone X. He extended the stick and posed.
Suddenly, he lost grip and dropped the selfie stick along with his new phone.
"AAHHH! My new iPhone!" Jet exclaimed. He went down at full speed to pick it up. But fear of hitting the ground at high velocity made him stop abruptly in midair.
Meanwhile back on the airship...
"Anyways, you two better tell us how to reverse this thing" Sonic demanded as Wave and Storm showed no signs of giving up. Shadow grew annoyed and angry. Sonic noticed this and made an attempt to calm him down, only to be thrown on the floor.
"We had given you more than enough chances--" Shadow began.
"Ermm two to be exa--"
"SILENCE!!!" Storm didn't dare to interrupt anymore.
"You both shall pay, CHAOS..." Shadow clenched his two fists. He turned into a fiery ball of destruction, threatening to break out into an inferno. Quills glowed scarlet and turned up. Eyes mirrored his crimson shade.
"No Shadow, WAIT---", Sonic tried to stop him but it was too late. He finished his sentence.
"BLAST!!!"
