Chapter 21

Silver's POV:

There was a grand buffet in HQ. Everyone got to know us and congratulated us. But there was still one thing that had to be done...Transferring the chaos energy from the key to the shattered emeralds. After the buffet had ended, the agents proceeded to do their assigned duties now that MAD has been captured. Inspector Gadget, Brain, Penny, Chief and the Professor lead us to the HQ Laboratory.

"Hey Gadget! How Eggman captured you and Brain?", I asked as Brain waved his hands in the air, and it looked like he was totally disagreeing with what I had asked. Penny seemed to read what he was trying to say and said, "Brain says that you really wouldn't want to know that whole long story".

"Oh okay...", I said casually as we walked into the lab. There, the professor began to assemble the things needed to examine and began his experiment with the emeralds and key. Shadow handed over the bag of shattered emeralds and key to him. He ran some tests as I watched his every step. He created a special, connecting cable that supported the full capacity of the power of 7 chaos emeralds combined by examining the key. Tails and Penny joined in to help.

He invented the super cable and gave it to us, "Here, to use this cable, connect it with a shard at a time. The shard will glow when it is charged to full capacity. Do this to all shards and according to my theory, the shards will merge together to form the respective chaos emeralds!". Professor said as he high-fived Tails.

"You're very smart there foxboy! You have a lot of hidden potential!!", he said as Tails blushed. "It's nothing really..."

"Thank you so much for helping us, Professor!", Knuckles said as he shook his hand. "Because of this, my hopes for Angel Island to be saved has increased a lot!". Professor smiled as he handed over the super cable to Knuckles as they all bid goodbye to HQ.

"We will miss you, go home safely okay?", Penny said as I turned around and nodded. She came and embraced all of us as Gadget wiped a tear from his eye. "go go gadget tissues", Gadget said as tissues appeared from his hat. "You will make a really good HQ agent Silver!", Chief said as Brain nodded in agreement. I smiled at them all as Professor waved at us, "You guys were great, We will never forget you!", he said sadly.

MEANWHILE IN HQ PRISON

"YOU THINK I AM A FOOL?" Dr. Claw bellowed in anger.

"Shhh!!! Uncle C we don't want any attention from the agents okay?", Talon put his finger on his lips as Dr. Claw raged. MadCat was using its claws to scratch the bars of the prison cell. Talon sighed as he thought for a moment....and suddenly, an idea popped in his head.

"Hey Uncle do you still have any of the spy-bots Eggman gave you?", he asked.
Dr. Claw nodded as he reached for his pockets and pulled one out. Talon turned it on and sent it out through the tiny gap in between the bars. The doctor raised his eyebrows as Talon said, "Wait for it...". He activated his bracer and a live camera appeared from it.

"Well, well look at what we've got here, Silver and his friends with the HQ agents", Talon said as Dr. Claw joined in to watch the scene. Both uncle and cousin watched how the super cable came about and how to make it.

"All the details of the super cable are in that notebook", Dr. Claw said pointing to the notebook that the professor wrote everything on. Talon sneered as he moved the spy-bot closer towards the book. Unfortunately, it was wide open and no one was noticing the robot. Everyone was busy waving goodbye to us.

Talon activated the scan from the spy-bot's eyes as it took zoomed in photographs of his notes. He moved the spy-bot quickly back to the prison cell he was in using his bracer. Dr. Claw cheered. "YES! Finally, with this super cable, I will transfer the powers from key to emeralds and rule the world!!".

"AHEM..you can't do anything with just the cable and not the emeralds and key. And besides, you haven't even created the cable yet!", Talon said as Dr. Claw sneered even more. "Let's create some distractions shall we?", He took out his gun and aimed at the lock.

Talon gasped, "Since when did you have a real gun Uncle C?".

Dr. Claw shot the lock and turned to him. "There are many things you don't know about me...", he said as Talon raised his eyebrows. 

"Fine, fine!! I took it from the black hedgehog when he was imprisoned with the rest in our lair". Talon was about to ask whether he could do the next gun fire when the HQ alarms went on. Everyone was shocked as the Chief went to check on the other agents.

"Quick you guys need to hide somewhere safe! NOW!", Penny said as I lead us somewhere. "Guys use the Xpress Lift to go to level 5. Room 512 is mine, go in there and lock yourselves in safely. We will let you know once the situation is handled" I explained. 

"Whatever it is that is happening, be careful okay?", Amy told the professor as he nodded. 

"Oh and Silver?", the professor called me as I turned around. "HQ needs you in action, with us!" he said as I nodded in agreement. 

I handed over the bag of shattered emerald shards and key to Shadow. "You guys take care of the shattered emeralds and key okay?", I said as everyone nodded. 

"You can count on us Silver", Tails said.

"The Xpress Lifts are over there!" I pointed towards them and headed in the opposite direction with the elite team.

Something big is going on. I am about to find out what.
