CHAPTER 5
Alyssa’s P.O.V
“Okay, whatever” Oliver muttered before going into the living room and switching on the TV, as I just simply rolled my eyes.
Sure… so my brother acts all shocked over the whole situation when I mention David but all of a sudden he’s gone back to his usual ‘Whatever, I don’t care’ attitude. Wow. I guess jocks really are an ass sometimes, especially when you have to put up with one because their in your family.
I then decided to drop the whole subject as I quickly made a ham sandwich for Lucie before going up into my bedroom where I had then done whatever homework needed to be due by tomorrow before using my laptop, as I scrolled through all my photo’s I had taken from the past with my friends and family.
Suddenly, I stopped scrolling after a very old picture had caught my eye. I double clicked on the photo, enlarging it onto my screen as a smile instantly appeared and I thought back to the time when this had been taken.
It was taken when we were both about the age of 10; when we were aloud out on our own for the first time.
But on that day, it just so happened that we both wondered off and got lost in the forest that was near our house. It was crazy actually because we were pretending to go on some sort of crazy adventure with patches of mud scattered all over our faces and clothes. But the best part was when we had both first discovered that gazebo…
We used to call it our secret hiding place when we were little ever since we’d always come out here to watch the stars every night, counting them as if they were golden coins.
The reason why I liked it so much was because it made me feel relaxed, peaceful… safe. And even now from today, we still hang around there once in a while.
Just then I heard the front doors slam shut as the sound of my mom and dad’s voice came from downstairs.
I instantly got back up on my feet, going downstairs to give my parents a warm greeting with a hug.
“Hey sweetie, who’re these flowers from?” my mom happily said first, waving them up in the air before placing some groceries on top of the kitchen counter.
Oh shoot. I forgot I had left those there… crap, what’s dad gonna say abou-
“Woah, woah… flowers? What flowers? From a boy? Who? Never mind, I do not approve of them anyway… whoever it is” he bellowed out.
“Dad, calm down, they’re just flowers” I assured him.
“No boy sends flowers to my baby girl unless I know and approve of them” he stated as I simply rolled my eyes in return.
Yeah, out of every father in the world, why did I have to end up getting the one who gets overly-protective when it comes to boys?
“Well whatever, I’m going to bed now… night guys” I suddenly said, changing the topic to avoid another awkward look from dad as I made my way up the stairs.
“At like 8:30pm?” my mom suspiciously questioned.
“Yes, I’m tired and it’s been quite a long day so good night” I quickly said before turning back to get up the last few steps from upstairs.
“But wait, don’t you wanna stay down for dinner?” My mom continued.
“Not hungry” I shouted back down.
“Well that’s the first” I heard both of them say from downstairs as I giggled.
“Oh shut up!”
