Chapter 11

Niall’s P.O.V

It was 6 o’clock in the morning and I was most definitely wide awake already.

I glanced up at my pale ceiling for what felt like hours, just thinking about what to do today.

For a brief second I took my eyes off from above me and scanned my whole entire bed room, groaning as soon as I saw the pile of scrunched up paper all over my floor.

Somehow I had spent my night sat in this room, trying to write a million ‘sorry’ letters for her, but not knowing if any of them would ever be good enough.

I tried writing all these letters in different styles, starting from different parts, but none of them had been finished at all.

After about two or three lines of my own words, I crossed out the whole thing and scrunched it all up before throwing it carelessly on my floor.

But the only one I had managed to keep and actually write out properly from last night was the one that was placed just on top of my desk. I continued to stare at that one piece of paper before picking it back up and reading it.

The only think I hadn’t finished in this letter, was the last part where I had to sign it.

Should I write my actual name on it?

Or should I write the two words I have always signed off as after every letter I’ve written to her?

Without hesitating any further, I quickly decided to do what I thought would be best before grabbing a pen and writing those two words straight down at the bottom of the letter.

Sighing after I had finished with it, I decided not to think too much about it afterwards so that I wouldn’t end up regretting this decision I had just made a second ago.

As I threw on my navy blue t-shirt and jeans, I then proceeded to get washed up before hitting the kitchen to get my breakfast.

Half an hour later…

I jogged my way to the nearest shop I could find around the corner of my street and bought the box of fancy chocolate I knew was her all-time favorite, before buying some icing and spelling out the 7 little letters on top of each one.

Once I was happy with the whole thing, I slowly made my way over to Alyssa’s house, being careful with the box of chocolates I was holding upright as I stopped right outside her doorstep.

Wait. Hang on.

Suddenly an urge of wonder caught my attention as I stopped myself from knocking on her door at that very moment.

Should I just give this box of chocolate to her.

Should I give her the letter too? No that would be stupid if I actually confronted her with that letter in my hand, labeled myself already as her secret admirer.

So should I just leave it by the side of her doorstep?

But then she’d think of me as a coward for not even saying sorry to her, face to face…?

Without even thinking it through, I soon felt my knuckles tap lightly on the frame of the wooden door as I instantly froze in my position. Not knowing what to do now as panic immediately shot up inside of me – as if I had just gotten myself electrocuted by the touch of that door frame - when I then heard footsteps approaching towards the door. Getting closer and closer for every step I could hear.
