Picture of Riley (Luke Bilyk! <3) on the side! :)

There was a light tapping sound in the background; a steady clicking.

I gingerly rubbed my eyes only to find an IV cord attached to my wrist. How odd.

“He’s waking up!” a voice chirped followed by a roar of cheers.

My nose felt slightly stiff. I tried to wrinkle it only to find it unmoving. Strange.

“Move! Move!” a familiar voice commanded followed by a brief scuttle. “Aaron! Aaron you okay?”

I blinked twice, the bright lights still blinding me. “Riley?”

“It’s me Aaron, you okay?”

My eyes shifted as it’s focus adjusted to the warm light of the room. Riley’s face finally came into my line of vision.

“Riley!”

Riley sighed in relief, “Thank god you’re okay! I was so freaking worri-”

“You have one hell of a bruise,” a voice chirped, “And a broken nose, you sound like a sick Elmo.”

I craned my stiff neck towards Adam and laughed, “No shit sherlock, I sound awful.”

My hand tentatively brushed over the heavy gauzed bandaged around my aching nose. Damn.

Adam warmly smiled, “Great to see you’re okay man.”

I nodded, wincing as my pounding headache increased.

Fighting the urge to cry out from pain, I bit my tongue as I noticed something on Adam’s upper lip.

“Holy crap!” I exclaimed, my horribly nasally voice cracking, “Adam! Your lip! It’s-”

“Split open,” Adam sighed, “Small price to pay for helping a friend in need but thankfully not as bad as the other injuries you guys have suffered.”

I frowned and glanced at Riley only to realize he was far worst off from Adam.

Riley’s lip looked swollen and he had a huge bruise on his cheek bone and just under his left eye.  Hanging limply on his side was his left hand, all bandaged up in white gauze.

“Oh Riley,” I groaned, “Please tell me you didn’t.”

Riley scowled as Adam chuckled.

“Man Aaron, you should have seen him! The minute you hit the ground, Riley jumped on Justin and punched him in the face until he was unconscious! What a beast! It was epic!”

I shook my head, “Beating someone unconscious isn’t exactly something we should be proud of.”

Riley and Adam laughed, “It’s good to have you back Aaron.”

I smiled, leaning back into my pillow.

“Wait, where’s Derek?”

“Mr. Becker, Mr. Colton, visiting hours are now over,” a nurse chirped as she popped her head through the doorway, “Please proceed down to the front desk to check out! Thank you!”

Adam snorted, “Damn, don’t they ever knock?”

Riley shook his head as he guided Adam to the door. “Later Aaron, see you tomorrow!”

I smiled, “Later guys.”

The sound of a fist rapping on the door tore me from me dreamless slumber.
