Picture of Drake (Asher Book)
“Wow,” I breathed as my pounding head tried to take it all in, “Wow.”
Derek was deathly silent as he pulled away.
“I-I,” I was lost for words.
“ERIN!!!”
Savannah hobbled over to us, her flushed face exhausted, “Let’s go- whoa am I interrupting something?”
I immediately jumped up from the bench, “Nope!”
I pathetically attempted to conceal my burning blush during the car ride to the hotel where I was wedged in between a silent Derek and a chatty Savannah.
“You sure you guys don’t want any cookies?” she chirped as Riley pulled to a stop at her hotel. “They’re chocolate chunk!”
Derek and I both politely shook our heads, our minds were both consumed elsewhere.
Tugging my hand, Savannah pulled me out of the car.
“Kay then. Hasta La Vista boys,” she smiled, “See you guys tomorrow!”
I turned to Derek on last time as Savannah’s grip on my wrist tightened.
“Bye,” I whispered.
He immediately looked away and my heart dropped to the pit of my stomach.
I quietly watched on the curb while the black Sedan drive away as Savannah chatted with the bell boy.
“Erin? You coming.”
Savannah’s voice was distant.
I bit my lip as the Sedan drove out of my view.
“Yeah.”
“That was so fun!” Savannah squealed as we changed into our pajamas, “That Adam guy is really sweet.”
I shrugged, “Yeah, Adam’s a nice guy.”
Savannah frowned as she fastened the last button on her Kate Spade pjs.
“Something the matter, you’ve been strangely quiet.”
Burying my burning face into a pillow, I let out a muffled scream, “I kissed Derek!”
Savannah made a small gagging sound and I pulled my face from the pillow to scrutinize her.
“What?”
“You kissed Derek?!”
I nodded.
“Shut up!”
She giddily threw a pillow at my head and let out a small scream, “Erin! I’m so happy for you!”
I grimaced as she clambered onto my bed and hugged me, “Oh my god! I can’t believe you guys finally kissed!”
I pulled away, nervously tugging the edge of the my American Eagle tee.
“I don’t like him Savannah.”
Savannah snorted, “What a load of bull! You’re totally into him!”
I narrowed my eyes suspiciously, “Is it that obvious?”
She scoffed, “Very. Oh my gosh! Are you guys like official then?”
I shook my head, “He doesn’t like me.”
