Picture of Adam (Shane Harper!) on the side! <3
“It’s not what it looks like,” Derek explained slowly as he backed away from me, hesitantly eyeing Drake, “Not at all man.”
“Really?” Drake snorted, “Cause seems to me, you two have been hiding a little secret.”
I groaned, “It was nothing Dra-”
“Shut up Burkley, I wasn’t talking to you!” He glanced at my nose, “And nice nose fag.”
Derek snickered, “Dude, don’t take your anger out on him just cause the adim caught you streaking two days ago.”
I frowned, since when was Derek so moody? He changed from embarrassingly fuming to giddily smiling in a matter of minutes.
“And since we weren’t here Monday, you’re going to have to do it all over again Roy.”
Drake yelled in blind fury, “What the hell? You said Monday! It’s not my fault that you guys got knocked out-”
“Deals a deal,” Derek taunted, “You gotta do it again.”
I was utterly confused, exactly what was going on here? Weren’t we just talking about our awkward bromance just minutes ago?
“I’m not streaking again-”
“Damn right you are!”
Then it all clicked, it was a diversion, it was all a distracting ploy. Derek was playing the straw man card, he had changed the subject so Drake would forget. He was a lot smarter than I gave him credit for.
“Thats right,” I added, “You gotta streak again man.”
Drake turned to me, his beautiful piercing eyes clouded by the shadows from his dark hood.
“Shut your mouth fag.”
Derek sighed, “Someone’s too chicken to streak again.”
That set Drake off, “You know what Derek? You’re lucky I didn’t’t call mom to tell her about the fight! You’re lucky I didn’t tell dad cause you know what’s gonna happen! BAM-” he slammed the palm of his hand against his car’s hood, “You’re off the soccer team! You’re shipped home!”
Derek’s dark eyes blazed with irritation, “I could care less about mom and Tyler. I’m an adult next year, they can’t tell me-”
“You want me to tell your mom?” Drake screamed in agitation, “Cause believe me I will! You know how much she already hates you! How she blames you for-”
I gaped as Derek flinched from Drakes harsh words, words so harsh that they were like lashes, violently whipping Derek’s shaking body.
“You know she holds you accountable! You know this will kill her-”
“Shut up!”
Derek’s soaked frame was shaking as he clenched and unclenched his bandaged knuckles, “Enough.”
I silently watched his wet figure walk to our building in utter confusion. Exactly what just happened here?
“Aaron!”
Adam and Riley both jumped up from the couch the minute I opened the door and bombarded me with bear hugs.
“Aaron, you’re back,” Riley smiled, ruffling my wig, “God, we missed you!”
Adam nodded, “It was so boring here without you and Nova! Say, where is he?”
