"...I'm Jordan Klinedinst. I, uh, hear me out on this. Kaylen, I'm your older brother."

What kind of joke was this? I don't have any siblings. I would have a little sibling, but they died with my parents. I stared at this Jordan Klinedinst. I mean, he has my old last name, but that could just be a coincidence. This is all too much. Where's Jaime? Or Dad? I need one of them.

"D-Dad, I need you o-over here," I absentmindedly said, still looking at Jordan.

Dad walked into the foyer, a confused look crossed his face when he saw Jordan. He stepped in front of me a bit, "Can I help you?"

Jordan took a deep breath, "I know this seems odd, but I'm Kaylen's older brother. I've been looking for her for forever. If you would let me in, I can explain everything."

Dad thought for a moment, "Hmmm, I guess you can come in."

Jordan smiled again, "Thank you so much!"

The three of us walked in, I stayed close to Dad. When we walked into the living room, Dad explained to the guys who Jordan was and why he was here. They all agreed to listen to his story.

Jordan stood in front of the five of us and ran a hand through his hair, "I'm Jordan Klinedinst, it seems weird, but I'm Kaylen's older brother. I've been looking for her since the day I found out about her, which was four years ago. Kaylen doesn't know about me because our mom got pregnant with me when she was seventeen. She was too young in her opinion to have a baby, so she put me up for adoption. Well, four years ago, before the accident, Mom tracked me down and told me how sorry she was for everything. She explained how she finally married someone and had a beautiful little girl named Kaylen. Mom and I had been setting up a date to meet you, but then the accident happened and, well, that didn't happen." He took a deep breath and continued, "I had no idea which adoption center you were sent to, so I talked to almost every agency in San Diego. Guess I didn't call yours soon enough. I'm so sorry I haven't found you sooner."

I didn't know whether or not to believe him. It seemed too detailed to be fake, but still.

"How did you all of a sudden her," Dad asked.

"I finally called the right adoption agency and this amazing woman, I believe her name was Ms. Holly, she told me where you were. I hope you don't mind that she gave out your address," Jordan replied.

I looked around to the guys, they seemed to believe it. But I wasn't sold just yet, "If my mother knew that you were out there, why didn't she say anything to me?"

Jordan thought for a moment, "I don't know to be honest."

"Do you have a picture of my- our mother?"

He nodded and got his phone out. He pulled up a picture of my mom, dad, and me. I was only about seven or eight. I smiled and grabbed his phone, looking at the picture. I handed his phone back, "Okay, I believe you now. No one has that picture. There were only two copies of it. One for me and one for my parents."

"Mom sent it to me," he said.

Dad got up, "Well, the guys and I will let you two catch up. We'll be in the backyard if you need us."

I smiled, "Okay Dad, I love you." When the guys left the room, I turned back to Jordan, "Why did you try so hard to find me?"

He sat down beside me, "You're the only family I have. I don't know who my dad is, my mother is dead, and I never met our grandparents."

I hugged him, "I'm really glad you found me, I've  always wanted an older brother."

He hugged me back, "I've always wanted a little sister."

I pulled away, "Do you want to look at the pictures I have of Mom?"

"Of course."

"I'll be right back," I ran up to my room and came back down with the box, "Here."

He carefully opened the box and looked through the pictures. We talked for a while until the doorbell rang. I laughed, "Let me guess, I have another older sibling." Jordan laughed, too.

I went to the door and saw Erin and Danielle. I smiled, "Hey guys! It's been a while. The guys are out back." They hugged me and went to the backyard.

I went back to my brother, it's weird to say that, "Hey Jordan, can we take a picture together and send it to my friends?"

"Of course we can."

I pulled out my phone and we took a selfie. It was perfect, so I sent it to Michaela and Eric. Gabriel moved out of nowhere and we haven't talked much and I'm too awkward to start a conversation.

Soon Eric texted back.

From Eric: You have a brother??!!

To Eric: I just found out today!!

I put my phone away and brought my attention back to Jordan, "Where do you live?"

"Thirty minutes north of here."

I smiled, "Yay! You don't live that far away from me!"

He laughed, "I'm pretty happy about that, too. So, what's it like being adopted by a band?"

"Hectic, but amazing."

He smiled, "I'm glad you're happy."

I sighed, thinking about everything that's happened, "Me too."

---

After a few hours of hanging out with my brother, it was late at night. Jordan eventually left, saying he would visit again whenever it was okay.Dad seemed to really like Jordan, all of the guys did. For the first time in a while, I was really happy. I finally have blood family. Don't get me wrong, the guys and everyone else were just as much family as my mom and dad were, but to finally have a blood relative in front of me again, it was amazing.

I turned to the guys and smiled, "Today was actually a really good day, but I'm tired. Goodnight, I love you guys." They smiled and all gave me a hug and kiss goodnight.

I went into my room and changed. I laid in my bed and stared at the ceiling. It was crazy, for fifteen years, I've lived my life oblivious to the fact I had a brother. I always thought I would never see a single person from my family again. My parents didn't have any siblings and both pairs of my grandparents died. I literally had no one to go to. I had no choice but to be sent to the orphanage. Then today, this man stood in front of me, claiming he was my brother. I was almost scared to listen to his story; too scared I would be hurt yet again. But I'm glad I listened to him. So glad. I have a brother. I let it sink in. I have a brother

I pulled the blanket up to my shoulders, closing my eyes. And for the first time in what seems like forever, I fall asleep with a smile on my face.
