"You're not going to get into a fight with her. It's petty," Dad said.
I shoved my binder in my backpack, "Dad! She fucking took me away from you guys! I thought you would want me to do something about it."
"I do want you to do something about it, I just don't want you to get into a fight. They never end well."
I rolled my eyes. He can't tell me not to fight someone, I'll fight whoever I want to.
He sighed, "Please Kaylen, don't fight anyone today."
I looked him in the eye, "Watch me."
I stormed out of the house. Not how I wanted the first day back in San Diego to go, but fuck it. I'm being a bit of a brat to Dad, but we're talking about Farah. She deserves to be beat up. I even made sure to wear a few rings.
All of a sudden a few shots of Mike's whiskey sounded really good. And one of Vic's secret cigarettes. Later, I have to break a bitch.
--
When I got to school I didn't bother to look for Gabriel, Michaela, or Eric. I went straight to where Farah and her friends hang out every morning; the cafeteria. I swung the cafeteria door open, making it hit the wall. Everyone in the cafeteria looked at me, but went back to their conversations. Everyone except Farah. She laughed and loudly whispered, "Anger issues much?"
I scoffed, "Bitch issues much?"
She glared at me, "Watch it."
"Or what? What are you gonna do Farah? Kick me? Scratch me with those fake ass nails?"
She stood up and straightened out her shirt, "You hear that guys? The fat fucking slut wants to fight me. Just because I took her away from the emo faggots she calls 'family'."
I punched her in the jaw. I was told not to ever throw the first punch, but this was an exception. She keeps ruining my life. She deserves it.
When I pulled my fist back from her jaw, she cupped it and glared daggers at me. I smirked. A blow to my cheek knocked me out of my cocky state. I kicked her shin as a distraction so I could punch her in the eye. My ring made a slit in her skin right above her eyebrow.
She scratched my cheek with her nails. I reached up to touch the scratches, feeling blood start to prick out. I punched her, giving her a bloody nose. I kicked her, kneed her, and pretty much anything you could imagine happening in a fight.
She got a few punches in before we were pulled apart. I turned around to see who pulled me off of her, ready for another potential fight. It was Eric. He wore a concerned look on his face, "Kaylen, what happened?"
I rolled my eyes and shoved past him. I don't need someone telling me that getting into a fight was the wrong thing to do. I really couldn't care less.
I walked out of school, not caring if I got a detention for skipping.
What has gotten into you, Kaylen? Arguing with Dad, fighting people, shoving off your friends?
A new voice popped into my head. I don't know what's gotten into me, but I don't care. I like it.
--
I was smart enough not to go home, so I walked around town. I stopped at a skate park to watch the people there. I sat on top of one of the old half pipes, giving me a good view of the whole park.
After a while, a girl came up to me. She had long, straight black hair and a nose piercing. She had an Of Mice & Men shirt on and her skateboard was tucked under her arm. She looked down at me, "You skate?"
I shook my head, "No, I've never tried."
She looked at me weirdly, "What happened to your face?"
"Got in a fight a little bit ago."
She smiled, "Nice." She thought for a moment, "Hey, wanna come hang out with my friends? We got booze."
I got up, "Yeah, sounds cool."
"Sweet."
She lead me over to an old overhang that was used for something unknown to me. It hid us quite well from everyone and everything. When we were fully under it I saw that there were three other people there; a boy with blonde, stringy hair that was covered by a beanie, a girl with short, purple hair and a septum piercing, and another boy with green hair and a bottle of beer in his hands and a cigarette to his lips.
The girl who came up to me initially, started introductions, "I'm Ollie, I'm the Walmart version of Oliver Sykes. Blondie's name is Alex, he doesn't talk much. Cigarette boy over there is Xavier, he thinks he's so deep 'cause he writes poetry. In all honesty, it fucking sucks. And girly's name is Vi, best girlfriend ever." Vi smiled and blushed a bit.
I smiled, "I'm Kaylen. You guys gonna share the alcohol or keep it to yourselves?"
Vi smirked, "I like you." She threw me a bottle, I caught it.
I opened it and took a sip of it. I almost spit it out. Xavier laughed, "You never drink before?"
I wiped my mouth, "No, but I like it."
The voice from earlier came back.
Kaylen, stop this. What's gotten into you? What happened to the nice and sweet girl the guys adopted? Where did this new Kaylen come from?
I don't know where she came from, but I hope she stays. I like this me better. I'm so care free.
