A Second Chance

"Kaylen, it's been three days. Give school a second chance," dad said.

I sighed, "Fine."

I was tired of him nagging at me. Doesn't he remember how shitty high school is? I got dressed in a Bring Me The Horizon long sleeve, some skinny jeans, and checkered Vans.

Jaime dropped me off, "Bye Baby Turtle! Call me if you need us, okay?"

I nodded and sighed, "O-Okay. God I fucking hate school."

He rubbed my shoulder, "It'll be fine, Kay."

I shrugged, "See ya."

He left me and I walked into school.

"Hey, wait!"

I looked behind me and saw the two people who got me out of my locker. Gabriel and Michaela. I smiled a little, "Uh, hi."

"We haven't seen you in a few days. You okay?" Gabriel asked.

"Oh, uh, y-yeah."

Michaela suddenly spazzed, "Hey! We never got your name!"

I flinched at the sudden outburst, but smiled, "Oh. I'm Kaylen."

"Cute name," Michaela said.

I shrugged, "Thanks."

"So, wanna hang with us?" Gabriel asked.

"I, uh, yeah sure." I smiled.

At lunch I sat at a table by myself. I couldn't find Gabriel or Michaela. I settled and was about to put my earbuds in when the table moved. Michaela sat down in front of me.

"Hey, Kaylen," Michaela said.

I smiled, "Oh, hi."

"So, watch'ya doing?"

I looked at my phone and back at her, "Oh, just going through some of the pictures I took from tour."

"Ooh! Show me!"

I showed her the picture I was looking at, "That's me and Oli at the venue in New York City."

"Lucky! I love Oli so much!"

I laughed, then showed her the next picture, "Oh that's me, Rian, Gabe, and Nick outside of some store we went to in Colorado."

I swiped and laughed, "That's when dad, Vic, Mike, and Jaime took me to Disney World on an off day. It was so much fun."

I swiped to the next one, "That's when we were playing at a festival in Houston. Jeremy from A Day To Remember brought me on stage and we took a selfie with the crowd. Oh! And then this one is when Chris and Ricky from Motionless In White let me watch their set from side stage."

"You must have a lot of fun. Your life is perfect," she said.

I rolled my eyes, "It's anything but."

She shrugged, "I won't question you. Now show me more pictures!"

I laughed and continued to show her pictures from tour.
