Finn's POV:

"So you're telling me little ol' Caleb- he supposedly killed Don from the gas station, correct?" Joe questions, attempting to gather all the information. I nod as I pull my beanie down further, "Yeah. It's all on the security camera footage- we assume, which is why we had to get him out of there before and authorities watched it." Joe makes a wincing sound through the side of his teeth. "Man, tough break." I manage to smile faintly at the comment, taking a swig of the whiskey we've continued to drink all night.. and by 'we' I mean him and by me I mean just taking sips of the same drink I started with. "So that's how you ended up here in Indianapolis, all five of you and a brit." The luscious haired man spoke as if telling a story, sighing at the end of his words as he runs his veiny hand through the silky locks that lay atop his head. "It's a tale for the books, that I can tell ya." He jokes with a crooked smile, one I can't help but reflect back to him. "I suppose so," I mutter as I fiddle with the rim of the glass and find myself growing tired as I slump in the brown, soft couch; warmed by the fireplace. "It wasn't easy moving here after Mom died, especially when Jacob and I knew what was coming next with our Dad. But we made due, it's easier now with Charlie and Natalia paying rent as well."

I raise an eyebrow at his last sentence as I readjust my position so that I no longer seem so uninterested. "Charlie and Natalia? As in-" Joe smirks, finishing the question for me. "-the two that would play video games with you at parties? Yeah, it's them alright." I smile as I begin to stand from where I sit, ready to greet the two I have such fond memories of. Joe stands with a chuckle, putting his hand on my shoulder as a sign to sit back down. I furrow my brows at him in confusion. Why can't I see them? "They're out on a date. Knowing them they probably won't come back for another hour or so." He answers as he reads my mind. I nod, repressing the frown I know will eventually develop over my lips. He playfully hits my knee, "But hey, you're always welcome to come over. After all, we're only a ways away."

I open my mouth to speak but get caught off guard at the ringtone of a phone call, the sound buzzing in my pocket. "I uh- one second." I blurt as I rush to my feet, setting the alcohol on the coffee table as I scramble to get my phone out and walk to the dining part of the large apartment while doing so. Without even bothering to check the contact, I bring my phone to my ear. "Hello?" I call out, still wondering who would ever call me at this hour. "Hey, where are you?" I hear a voice answer, one very familiar to me. "At Joe's, why?" I explain casually. "Wait- Joe's? As in Joe Keery?" She questions excitedly through the other line. I nod, smiling, "Yeah. turns out he doesn't live too far from the apartment." I hear her laugh from the other side followed by incoherent words spoken to her in the background. "Shut up- I did not like him! I didn't!" Sadie insists though I already know she's smiling by the glee in her voice. "Like who?" I ask curiously as I furrow my brows. Her voice returns to the phone, "Oh nothing- Gaten's just being a dickhead." "Am not!" I hear him reply faintly. "Yes you are, now go away!" She scolds, still that hint of playfulness in her voice. "Anyway, I think you should come back soon. Millie's feeling kinda lonely, oh- maybe I could invite Jacob over to keep her compan-" "-I'm coming home, Sink. Don't get such crazy ideas in that redhead of yours." I chuckle while walking back over to the living room and ending the call.

Joe raises an eyebrow at me expectedly, "Well?" I shrug as I purse my lips together. "Sadie called, wants me to come back to the apartment so.. guess I gotta do what she says if I don't want a beating." I explain in a smile as I lead him to the door. "Sadie, huh? Are you two a-" -"Oh! No, no." I quickly respond, picking up on his question rather quickly as I pull on my coat. He nods, "My mistake." I shrug it off easily. "It's fine... I'm actually with Millie, the british one." I mention, to which he widens his eyes with interest. "Oh? The new girl?" He questions as if to make sure he was right. "Yep, I find it hard to believe it myself- I mean she's incredible, really, really something I was blessed with. You'll have to meet her sometime." I insist as I shimmy my foot into each shoe individually. He smiles his calming smile, "Yeah, I guess I will if you find her to be 'something'." Joe laughs while opening the door, giving me one last wave goodbye before leaving me to head home.

Using the spare key I had taken before leaving to Joe's, I slowly open the front door to apartment E11. I'm greeted to the sigh of Caleb and Sadie cuddling on the couch with the TV playing some sort of Christmas movie. "One, welcome back Caleb- hope you're feeling better. Two, how is it that you two are fine? Three, where's Paige? And four, guys it's literally December 5th- why are you watching How The Grinch Stole Christmas." I rant as I kick off my shoes and slip off my coat, hanging it on a nearby chair. The two smile at me, "One- thank you, I am. Two- I'm pretty sure Gaten learned his fucking lesson and Sadie's already bawled her eyes out in guilt. Three- she's out buying more groceries. And four- cheer up, dude, it's Christmas." Caleb answers, winking at the end. I stare at him dumbfounded and in disappointment, "Did you seriously just quote How The Grinch Stole Christmas?" I ask flatly. "Yes Finnlard, I did. What are you gonna do about it?" He jokes with that bright, white smile of his. I roll my eyes, "You two are such dorks." "And you love us for it!" Sadie calls after me as I stroll down the hallway, stopping at the room I had just recently had thrown punches in.

Turning the knob as slow as possible, I peek through the crack into the silent, dark room that is only visible by the moonlight that shines through the blinds. Sleeping in the queen sized bed lays Millie Bobby Brown, all snuggled under the covers with her hair loose from any hair tie that could possibly contain such soft locks. Smiling faintly at the sight, I slowly come over to the unoccupied part of the bed and carefully lay the covers over my body; worrying about waking the beautiful brunette the whole time. For a while I simply lay there beside her, fantasizing about my future and reminiscing about my past. That is until my thoughts get cut off by the squirming girl beside who turns on her side to face me, eyes squinting open at me wearily. "Finn," She croaks tiredly as she reaches her hand out for me to come closer. "What's wrong?" I whisper back as I oblige, feeling my face heat up when she places a soft kiss on lips before snuggling into my chest. "I like your warmth." She mutters quietly before drifting off to sleep on my chest, her hand resting beside her head comfortably. I suppress a smile as I know she won't remember our short conversation in the morning, though truly there isn't a better way to fall asleep.
