Millie's POV:
Before Finn can meet our lips the rooftop door bursts open, a wildly frantic boy being the cause. "Finn, you have to come- right now!" Noah exclaims in his panicking voice, one I've had the sorrow of getting used to. Finn nor I question it, we simple grab the blankets we brought up here and rush after him; Noah thankfully not questioning the suspicions of our wardrobes. "What happened?" Finn asks as we rush down the stairs at a rapid speed. "It's Caleb, I'm not sure but something happened with Gaten." Noah blurts quickly, almost to the point that I could've missed it if I wasn't paying attention. Finn takes the lead as we run into the already opened apartment door, heading straight for the loud yelling produced by low voices.
I watch from close behind as Finn enters Sadie and I's room where the redhead sits on the bed with a pale white face and Caleb has Gaten pinned against the wall, screaming in his completely terrified face. "You freak! You liar ass son of a bitch needs to stay away from Sadie! She's mine, Matarazzo- now get that through your dumb-ass skull! Nobody wants a frea-" "Caleb!" Finn shouts, pulling his shoulder so he's turned away from Gaten. "Finally, Mr. Heartthrob cared to join us. Oh how happy am I to see you, Wolfhard! You can bet I'm so fucking happy, and you wanna know why?" The dark skinned boy questions as he continues to step closer to Finn with his arms out at his sides. "Caleb this isn't you." Finn tries, only having a scoff as a response. "Oh and that's where your wrong, Finnie. I've never felt more like myself." He spits, pushing Finn's bare chest so he's forces to take a step back. "I see she's taken up your clothes, huh?" He mentions, gesturing to me. Finn locks eyes with me, and it it terrifies me to find that his eyes show the same. He's scared, more scared than any of us. "What.. you guys finally fuck?" Caleb guesses, and to be honest.. I'm not sure if he's right or wrong, though I have a feeling it's a no. Right now I can't even remember.
"Screw you, Caleb." Finn states flatly at the slightly shorter boy, clenching his jaw afterwards. "No, Finn- screw you. Screw you for abandoning me for a girl, and not just any girl- a girl who isn't even from Cumming, or matter of fact, the whole North American continent!" Caleb takes a swing and his fist shoves across Finn's shark jaw, causing him to stagger backwards. This isn't Caleb, this isn't the same Caleb that had told me he was happy I came along, that I changed Finn for the better. "I don't want to fight you, Caleb." The dark curly haired boy mutters, gaining his posture rather quickly. "Oh yeah? From what I hear from Sadie, you didn't have a problem beating the shit out of Matarazzo! So how am I any different?" He questions, gesturing to himself with furrowed brows until putting his hand out as if to stop Finn. "Oh please, let me answer. Because unlike toothless, I'm not a freak! That's the answer: I'm not a freak-" "Shut- the fuck- up!" Finn yells, throwing multiple punches at the boy that first hit him in the stomach, followed by a direct hit to the side of his jaw.
"You're dead, Wolfhard!" Caleb scolds until being once again thrown off to come face to face with another boy. Though this time it's someone I don't think anyone expected, Noah. "No, you are." He states, throwing the strongest hit he probably can at the boy which sends him staggering into Finn's possession. Except all the other punches that hit Caleb, he doesn't bounce back up with rage, he lays limp in Finn's arms that caught him backwards. "Caleb, Caleb are you okay?" The dark eyed teen asks worriedly, though mad at him also still caring for the boy deeply. Within seconds his eyes open back up and he climbs to his feet, thankfully in a less rage-filled mood. "Caleb, listen I'm really sorr-" Noah tries with his hand reaching for the boy's shoulder but being tightly grabbed by the wrist instead. "Don't touch me." Caleb sneers, throwing Noah's hand back at him and pushing past me, until finally hear the sound of the apartment door slamming shut. The second we know he's gone, a sudden sigh of relief goes out in unison between the five of us.
"Thank you.." Gaten says sheepishly, having his own bloody nose from before we arrived. Finn nods, dismissing his gratitude. "What happened?" I question as I fully enter the room. Gaten and Sadie exchange glances as if deciding who would be the one to tell. "Um.. he walked in on us.. uh-" "I was just comforting her, that's all." Gaten persists, though his nervous tendencies seem to give the lie away. "Bullshit, he walked in on you what? Kissing.. or something worse?" Finn interjects, trying to get to the bottom of this while.. if I may add, looking like a fucking model as he does so. Gaten flushes a crimson red as Sadie just looks guiltily at the floor. "We shouldn't have. But yeah.. we kissed." The red explains flatly, finding no use in making her seem any type of innocent. "It was just the heat of the moment, I s-swear. I-I'd take it back if I could." The curly haired boy stampers as he scratches the back of his neck. "Chill Gaten, we're not taking you to court." Finn snickers, allowing Gaten to ease up a little. The dark eyed boy lets out a deprived sigh, taking off his beanie to shake it off before replacing it back over his luscious curls. "Well obviously he had good reason to do what he did." "Did not," I scoff with my arms folded. Finn stares me directly in the eyes, "If it were me, Gaten would've gotten a lot worse than a few punches and a lecture." He curses as my features soften.
"What do we do now, wait for him to come back and ignore us all?" Noah questions sarcastically, throwing his hands in the air. "No, course not. But you guys did fuck up, big time. Things won't be any easier with Paige snooping around our conversations either." Finn mentions, crossing his arms across his bare chest. "For all she knows, Caleb's a polite teenager who has done nothing wrong." I add as I try to rack my brain around the whole thing. "Right, so even if we did tell her- she'd never believe us without asking too many questions." Gaten adds, to which Finn nods in agreement. Noah sighs, raising one finger before muttering, "One sec." and leaving the room. Ignoring the boy's exit, Finn begins pacing up and down the room. Gaten peers at him, "What are you doing?" "Thinking," He answers flatly. "Of what?" The hat wearing boy questions further. Finn stops mid pace, "Of ways to fix this bullshit mess you two made." He scowls angrily, taking a deep breath afterwards. Suddenly Noah comes strolling back into the room with a banana and dark grey sweater in hand. "Catch." Noah instructs as he throws the sweater to Finn who luckily catches it and slips it over his once goose fleshed body. "Thanks." He mutters back.
I watch in both confusion, amusement, and wonder as Noah peels the banana and begins eating casually, as if everything's just dandy in his world. I bet it would be after his day with Iris. Which reminds me, I should ask him about that later. "Listen, Finn there's nothing we can do until we know what we're dealing with. Don't stress over something that we can't fix yet." Sadie insists as she touches his upper arm. "Yeah, okay. I mean.. it's not like you did exactly what I assured him wouldn't happen. But yes, Sadie- we'll do what you want." Finn spits, brushing off her hand. He sighs, his features softening, "I'm sorry, it's just.. I feel like I'm the one who always has to fix everyone's problems even when they don't include me. It's just frustrating." Finn admits, receiving no answer as all of us know it's true. "It's our faults for starting this in the first place." Gaten chimes in grimly, staring at his shuffling feet. "It's okay, I'd rather fix the problem than not help at all." He forgives before strolling out of the room, closing his own bedroom door behind him softly.
"We really do take Finn for granted." Gaten states, sighing gently. "You guys think I should go talk to him?" I ask with my finger pointed to the hallway. Noah shakes his head, "I'll talk to him in a few. He needs space though, time to himself for a bit." I nod as a response, repressing my need to go comfort him any way I can and instead pulling his jacket tighter over my slim body. If I close my eyes, it almost feels like I'm back home in his arms.. staring out at the stars from my bay window, whispering sweet nothings to each other ; it the first time we said 'I love you'.
