My blood ran cold with her last words. She hasn't said killed, or maybe even murdered. She had said slaughtered.

As we filed out of the communications room in silence I glanced nervously at Zeta who just shook her head slowly. I understood now why she had not wanted Beta or Alpha to be here. They were her guys. I wouldn't have wanted Epsilon here either.

I walked to my room and sat on the neatly made bed and played with my fingers. Everything about this mission seemed dangerous.

We were rushing in, fully armed, into a highly secured area to kill someone who was being protected by people, also heavily armed, and we had no plan of extraction. Not only that but the Chancellor has said slaughtered. I could already tell that some of us may not come back alive, and the idea of that petrified me.

Epsilon walked in without knocking and bounced back on the bed across from mine.

"Hey Dells. What's the happy haps?" He questioned rocking back and forth.

"There's a mission. It's... not an easy one." I forced a smile.

"Eh you'll be fine. How many people have died on missions anyways?" He inquired.

"Two people. The rest... died here," I mumbled to myself.

"So the real danger is staying here. You'll be fine. You're smart," he sang skipping over and sitting behind me.

"Thanks. I'm just worried. The Chancellor used the word slaughtered instead of killed,"I murmured to him.

I felt him freeze on the mattress.

"She's probably just being dramatic. You'll be fine. I have faith in you." If I turned I knew he would be beaming.

"Thanks."

I sat in my mission suit. A skin tight suit with layers of bulky black body armor.

"Worried?" Iota asked me.

Sadly he had been cleared for the mission.

"What's it to you?" I snarked viciously.

"Geez. Sorry," he put his hands up defensively.

"Hey. You two. This is an important mission. Stop chatting and pay attention," Zeta snapped. She sounded tense and I could tell it was worrying Psi and Iota.

"Fine."

My breath shook as the jet flew us over a large city and out to the country to a remote facility that held people who were high risk for being killed. So we were going to go there, and kill them. Great logic.

As we hovered over the place I heard Zeta mumble something under her breath.

"Are we going?" Iota asked glancing at Zeta. His mask covered his face so I was guessing about where he was looking.

"Yep. We have to jump. We can't get much closer without setting off alarms in the ship," The pilot barked back at us.

"There's parachutes under the benches," she directed as she hovered.

I reached under my seat and pulled out a large backpack.

"We're jumping in ten," Zeta snapped as I buckled the backpack to my torso.

"Opening loading bay," the pilot declared.

The large door opened, creating a deafening sound.

I couldn't hear anything over the engines but guess that it was time to go when Zeta launches herself over the edge.

I jogged a few steps and stared over the edge of the bay door.

Don't think don't think just jump.

I looked down and saw that we were extremely high up.

I took a deep breath and tried to push myself but I couldn't make myself jump.

I felt a push on my back and spiraled out of the plane.

I held my breath in as I careened towards the ground. How lucky would I be if I could die right now and not have to do this mission?

To my dismay the parachute opened and I landed safely on a patch of soft grass in the court yard of what looked like a prison.

"Guard rotations will see us in about three minutes. The building will be locked down and make this a hell of a lot harder. Do you think you can secretly take out the guards?" Zeta looked at me.

I nodded simply and looked around.

"They will be reaching the courtyard from that open door. Get rid of them before they cause a problem." Zeta jabbed her finger at a double door that opened to the building.

I grabbed my gun from my hip holster and held it up as I silently jogged through the shadows towards the open doors.

I slid through and peered around. It looked like a maze of hallways. I heard voices laughing from around the corner and jogged to a hallway and ducked behind the corner.

I waited until the voices were near enough that I could tell they were right next to me.

I pointed my gun and waited for both of them to walk slowly in front of the gun.

As they both lined up through the viewing scope I pulled the trigger.

The silencer kept their deaths discrete as both bodies crumpled to the floor.

"Good job. I'm sending Iota off to take care of another pair and Psi is on the line with the Chancellor. I'm going after the target," she whispered over the headset.

"What should I do?" I asked.

"Find a room with a lot of them in it, and kill them. All. The less there are the easier this is."

"Gotcha," I reported before walking at attention through the halls.

I heard a cluster of voices and walked towards a large room. The scent of beer and Italian food wafted from the room.

"Hey there little lady," a voice echoed behind me.

I froze and closed my eyes as if it would go away.

"Turn around slowly and drop your gun," the male voice ordered pressing the end of a gun into the back of my head.

I slowly raised my hands and my gun clattered to the ground as I turned to face him.

"Now if you could be a doll and walk backwards into the room behind you," he barked.

He sounded heavy set but he seemed to be quite skinny. His chin had a layer of prickly white hair covering it. His face looked old and saggy.

I slowly walked backwards into the room. As soon as I entered through the doorway I heard the chatter go silent.

"Well shit."
