Iota

"I have to go on a small side mission." Kappa nudged me lightly.

"What?" I rolled onto my side.

"It's morning already. You really shouldn't stay up late. I have to go on a small mission with Omega. It isn't dangerous," he informed.

"Alright. I'll probably just work on the robot a little," I avoided the words see you later.

"I'll see you." He planted a small kiss on my forehead before leaving the room. After the door shut my eyes watered

"Not this time Kap."

I immediately set to work, cleaning and writing. Everything that had to be done was done, and everything I wanted to do I had done.

I had cleaned the room besides making my bed. I didn't want anyone but Kappa to find my note. I had cleaned up the tiny robot scraps and I had brushed out my hair. I was wearing my best, which was sadly only a pair of jeans and a clean t-shirt. I was as ready as I could be, but that doesn't mean I want to go.

There was a knock at the door. Before I could respond the door opened and in walked a guard.

"I'm sorry Iota. It's time," she said in an eerily peaceful voice that send chiver holding up a taser.

"It's okay. I'm ready."

The plan was to tase me until my heart stopped.

"I'll miss you Kap," I muttered before she pressed the button.

Kappa

"Omega can you-" I stopped as I opened the door to my bedroom. Iota was laying on the ground in front of his tiny robot. His hair had turned dark at the tips and the smell... I could only describe it as what a barbecue smelled like, except there was a gut wrenching feeling to go with it.

"I-Iota?" My voice trembled as I threw down the cookie Omega had given me. I slid on my knees and held him tightly, shaking him softly.

"Iota. Iota wake up," I croaked. My throat tightened as tears threatened to spill. My stomach churned and I turned, vomiting up everything I had eaten in the past day onto the floor next to my bed.

I coughed and covered my mouth. My hand was shaking so badly that it hit my nose every few seconds.

"Oma. Oma get help. Pl-please," I whimpered staring back at her young eyes staring at Iota's burnt body, draped across the floor.

"RUN. RIGHT NOW GET SOMEONE." I screamed at her.
