Do I have to go back?

Draco's POV

I was sat in a blue patchwork blanket halfway up a small hill. A light breeze caused my fringe to brush into my eyes and the smell of fresh bread and something sweet seemed to be coming from the wicker basket placed by my feet. A small boy with my hair began running around me, swinging his arms and laughing as he went. He had brown eyes, brown eyes that I recognised but could not place them. A small cry broke me from my thoughts.
'Mummy. Mummy. Come and play.' I followed the small boys line of sight to find one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen. She had the most gorgeous brown hair that fell in chocolate waves down her back, a slim figure and beautiful chocolate brown eyes, exactly the same as the boy.
'Scorpious' I call and, and the boy turns to look at me before jumping on my lap. I could see the brown haired beauty walking towards us. The sound of a voice, gently calling in the wind.
'Draco....Drake......DRACO MALFOY WAKE UP THIS INSTANT!'
Jumping awake I see my mother stood by the door to my room.
'S, good you are awake. Quickly get dressed the come downstairs, there is a letter for you at the table.' With these words she gracefully swept from the room, giving me no choice but to get up, all thoughts of my peculiar dream forgotten.

Ten minutes later and I found myself slumped in my chair at the dining room table, my mother sat next to me and my father sat at the head of the table. A letter sat before me, the Hogwarts seal taughnting me, almost laughing at me, daring me to open it just to find I was no longer welcome at the school. I know what I did was wrong, but it was against my will. My father had been placed under the Imperius curse, my mother abused in ways that were unspeakable, and I myself have more scars, emotional and physical, to show how unwilling I was to follow that mad man's orders.

'Draco, open the letter son. I am sure it will not be anything to offensive.' Came the calm, quiet voice of my father. Since he had been released from His hold my father was a completely different person. Very quiet, calm and loving. My mother was happier to.

After seeing the reassuring looks from both my mother and father I picked up the letter and opened it.

Dear Mr Malfoy,
I am pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to re-do your final year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed your book list and a questionnaire that you must complete and send back to the Ministry of Magic by the 30th July. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Headmistress McGonagall.

Beneath the letter was a questionnaire that was easily five pages long. All I could think was 'Why does the ministry need to know my foot size? Or how long I brush my teeth in the morning?' Looking up from the letter I was hoping to find some answers from my parents, but it was obvious they were as confused as myself.

'Do I have to go back?'
'Come now son, you loved Hogwarts. I know you have some unpleasant memories there, but so does everyone else. This is your chance to show everyone who uoubwant to be, not who that monster made you. And by the looks of things you don't really have a choice.'

Hearing these words brought a new sense of determination to me. This year I would get to be me. And hopefully I would have a certain Gryffindor finally notice me in the way I want to be noticed. And so, with thoughts of her in mind, I began to answer the questionnaire that was about to change my life forever.
