"This isn't necessary Alite." Dad roars.

The Commune heard about the vampire attacks in town and had rushed to our door. We tend to attract vampires to our location, but these vampire attacks were obvious and down right bloody.

"Appearntly it is, I thought you handled this problem a long time ago Harvy!" Alite screeched back.

Alite was a Leader of the commune and by far the scariest. His hair was white as an old timey sheet, his cheek bones were sharp and structured like razors. Everything about him screamed stay away. "Krivina and I had come to an agreement, she promised to leave us alone. That's all that matters to me."

"Yes but that's not all that matters to me or to this commune. You're giving hybrid blood to a demonic vampire elder Harvy. You don't think that's a little risky? You put everyone at risk when you put yourself at risk!"

"No one is at risk! We're fine!"

"Are you now?" Alite flows his eyes towards me then back on my father.

My dad lowered his head in defeat.

Alite mad it obvious what risk they were worried about.. and it wasn't a vampire coven.

"Alite, the ground has been covered for the night. Your presence is no longer needed here but is none the less appreciated." My eyes darted to voice that I'd recognize anywhere.

"Charlie?" I smile.

I can see him forcing back a smile keeping his gaze locked on his leader, but his leaders gaze was burnt into me.

"How strange. Sweet child, has it been so long that I can't even sense your presence in a room anymore or is it that i'm I cannot sense a sweet child in a room if there is none?" A chill went through my spine as he picked up my face in his hands and my eyes reached the Commune Leader's.

They looked intense and lost in a search of weak will but I wasn't afraid of him as much as I use to be. I wasn't afraid at all.

"Uncle." Charlie snapped.

Alite's harsh eyes flickered and he frowned. "Where else must I be Nephew?"

"Their was another vampire attack not more then a few miles from here. They must have moved on." Charlie reports.

"I have other matters to attend to moon child, but yours isn't close to being forgotten." He patted my head like a puppy.

"Harvard a word with you outside?"

My dad followed the pale man towards the door which shut closed behind them.

"Noah what in the world?!" Charlie finally loosens his stature and pulls me in for a tight hug.

"Deals with the damned are forbidden, you know that dammit. I was going out of my mind wondering what they would chose to do. I thought by the time I'd get here they'd... They'd..well.."

"Kill us?" I finish looking up at him. "This isn't the first time my family's done wrong, you know that."

"That doesn't mean you'll always get a slap on the wrist."

" True but they won't kill us."

"That doesn't mean they'll let it slide, you don't know what you're dealing with at all Noah. It's not just the Commune you're upsetting it's a vampire coven. Do you not remember what they did to your mom?" He squeezed my shoulders tight.

I pushed him away snarling.  "Don't you dare bring my mom into this Charlie!! She did what she had to do to save us! She did what had to be done!"
