I finally finished making dinner and now I had moved on to my daily visit with the person who came to be my only friend.

"It sucks being this way ya know?" I sigh at my laptop.

Skyping with charlie has always been part of my day to day life. Something about hearing his voice was just reassuring. He made me feel less alone.

"You're never gonna make any friends with that attitude." He laughed running his hands through his hair brown hair. I always thought it was odd, how contrasting his blue eyes were to his brown hair. I never said anything though. I never wanted him to realize I noticed a lot of little things about him.

"It doesn't matter what attitiude I have they're either scared of me or ready to show me who's top dog. Which is still me." I mock myself.

"I'm sure someone doesn't find you threating. I mean everyone needs friends Noah, you can't be a lone wolf forever."

"I don't need friends Charlie. I got you. So no lone wolf here." I try to joke.

A big smile came across his face.

"Ya, but I don't exist remember?" He smirked his childish smirk, but we both knew he was serious.

Charlie was part of the commune. The Slayer Commune. Meaning he did not exist in the human community.. or any community.. besides the Commune. People like him were sent to kill things like me. Monsters.

Somehow though Charlie and me became friends.

I remember it like yesterday.

There we were for what the Commune called judgement day. Children around the age of 13 were throw together and higher officials judged our strength, agility, and of course our ability to kill.

Charlie knew I was different. Everyone there did.

They knew I had all the advantages of not just being half slayer but being a lycan.

My kind were frowned upon, but for some reason.. they let me live.

They knew I was a risk.

They knew some part of me was not under my control.

They just didn't know which part.

And neither did I.

"You okay?" He calls tapping at his web cam.

"No. I'm dead." I tease.

"I knew something was off!" He jokes.

"NOAH!" I hear the door slam open.

"Dad?" I swiftly make my way down the stairs.

"Where are you going? Is everything alright?! Noah?! " I hear Charlie's voice blare from the speakers.

"He's here." He says more calmly.

"What do you mean?" I whisper.

"You know what I mean."

A horrid laugh makes ways to my ears. A laugh I remember all too well.

"Lucard." I growl, I push my dad out of the way.

Lucard was my keeper. The only keeper in existence. Someone Krivina the head vampire elder sent out to watch over and collect dues from freed werewolf slaves, or in this case hybrids.

"Noah , Wait! Don't do anything stupid!" He follows me down the hall trying to keep pace. "He's here for more blood payment."

"That's insane we already gave him her fill."

"Guess Krivina's getting greedy." I heard Lucard laugh.

I stopped at the edge of the door with only inches between me and my keeper but those inches were keeping me safe.

He was stood there in the door way, smiling a fanged smile, red eyes glowing like flames.

"What do you want from us?" I question even though I already knew the answer.

"Noah Darling! You look more like your mother everyday!! Your good ole dad wouldn't invite me in! Why don't you do the honours? After all we're pratically family." His slick black hair looked like a black hole against his pale skin.

"That won't be necessary." My dad said holding my shoulder.

I could feel the heat of anger grow inside me. He couldn't come in if he wasn't invited. Lesser vampire problems.

"Don't be foolish Mr.Lewis, I come as your friend not as your foe."

"You're not welcome here." I can feel my neck hair stand on edge. Even for a lesser vampire, he still gave off the danger vibe.

Lucard frowned and took a step back.

"Better leash your dog, Harvy. Don't want her to be another rebel do we?" He sneers but keeps his eyes locked on me.

"What do you want?" I snarl.

"Krivina wants her pay." Lucard hisses. "But I'm sure you already knew this sweet."

"We've already given her enough." My dad pulls me behind him and steps towards the door the door.

"She has no right to demand more."

Lucard laughs at this and steps forward also less then an inch away from my dad's face. Her slaves mean the world to her... especially her favorites." He smiles at me.

"Your mother was her favorite pet, you know?"

I lunge at him but my dad's arm stops me.

"No!" He warns.

I growl loudly my heart pounds. I want him. I want him dead. I want him dead now.

"You can't control her for long Harvy! She's a beast. She's not just a little girl anymore. She's a killer. She will thirst. She will want to be all the things you call evil and do all the things you frown about." Lucard exclaims shaking his head at us.

He looks at me and smiles one last time.

"I can feel a big storm brewing in her Mr.Lewis. You be careful now."
