"You know you'll end up together right?" A voice says.
I jump.
"Cool it tiger." Ryan smirks.
I roll my eyes and put my focus back on the study hall's door. Noelle had given me a grand tour of all the rooms and hallways of the refuge. It was like a one floored mansion from the glass like floors to the satin curtains. She paused in front of the Study hall and I could tell from the look on her face it's where Avalon and Seth were at. So I decided to sit and wait. It was already getting dark and I couldn't hear a thing through the doors.
"You won't be able to do much ease dropping on an empty stomach you know." Ryan said flopping on the couch next to me.
I growled. "I'm not ease dropping."
She laughed as she picked up a book. "Of course not. People just sit in one place alone for hours all the time."
"What is it with you? One second you're against my existence the next you're ready to accept me." I snapped.
She put her book down and turned to me. "You do realize what you are don't you?" Her blue eyes met mine.
"What's that suppose to mean?" I ask.
"You're a hybrid of two of the most powerful beings. Nobody knows what you are capable of or if you can even control yourself. That's a dangerous thing. A very scary dangerous thing."
"So you're afraid of me?" I mumbled.
"I'm afraid of what you are."
"A monster..." I look away.
"No. A slayer."
"Hello ladies, guess who got us a evening of normal citizenship?" Seth grins as he opens the door his brown hair falling over his eyes.
I feel my eyes grow big.
"Normal?"
"Why are we taking cars again?" Carsen complains.
"Because people assume your a superhero when you run faster then the average human." Ryan mocks.
"Basically." Seth agrees as he opens the door for me.
"Where are we even going?" I ask throwing myself in.
"Downtown for some burgers hopefully." Hunter says as his rubs his tummy.
"Shopping?!" Noelle squeaks as she places herself in the middle of Carsen and Hunter.
"Possibly." Seth smiles as he adjusts the mirrors.
"Who's Impala is this?" I ask.
"I guess your Commune is familiar with car theft?" He jokes as he revs the engine.
"Something like that." I laughed as I pushed my hair aside and turned on the radio. Third Eye Blind. Perfect.
"These people smell like lunch." Hunter grins as we wait in line to order. Carsen elbows him.
"I'm not even hungry! I wanna shop!" Noelle complains.
"The rest of us are." Luke shot her an ugly look.
"I'm not." I shrug.
Seth looks over his shoulder. "Go with her?"
Noelle begins to drag me away towards the first girly store in sight.
"You can't be serious..." I say out loud.
"You'll love it I swear!" She starts grabbing all kinds of colorful shirts off the racks and throws them towards me. "Try them on."
