"What are you thinking?" Noelle whispered as she turned towards me. She hadn't left my room much in two days and niether had I. She never spoke to me unless I spoke to her first, she just watched intensely and looked puzzled. She brought us back food from what use to be the garden but was now just burnt plants and hollow ground, which bothered me. Was it my fault this happened to their home?

"How did Scarlett find me in a refugee for stowaway slave dogs? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of this place? You're all hiding from Vampires and they found you. Why are we all still here?" I ask her.

"If we were in danger Avalon would have us leave right away. She knows what's best." Noelle says in complete faith.

"Keeping me away from my Family is what's best? Keeping everyone away from the outside world is what's best? No. Something is wrong here Noelle I know it. They know where you're at, why are we sitting here?" I shiver at the thought of my family.

"If we were to leave this refugee we would be hunted, found, and slaughtered. You have to understand Noah, this is our best hope. Our only hope. We are going against the will of many evils and I'm scared. We are all scared." Her voice shook. "As for your Family, you already know. You're a danger to them as much as you're as you're a danger to us. Possibly more because at least we have ourselves in control. They're dealing with Krivina right now. We're dealing with her fledgings."

"I see them less and less. They grow fainter everytime. I miss my dad. I miss Charlie. I don't want to lose them." I whisper holding back tears..

She smiles half heartedily. "You don't have to Noah. I can help."

I stand up from my place. "Then do it."

"Good evening ladies. Care to join us for some Tea? I just brewed some up." Avalon says never taking her eyes off the table. I can't help but notice how she does look like my mother in so many ways and it scares me because she's also nothing like my mother.

"No thank you, I prefer coffee."

She laughed. " Just like your mother of course. How could I forget? She was the exact oppsite of me."

"My dad always described her as rebellious."

Avalon looked up slowily. "Did he now?" She smiled. "Well he was certainly right." She began to sip her tea and stare down at some scattared papers.

"I need to go home. My things are there. I'm tired of using the pack's clothes. It's not a request anymore. It's a demand." I say firmly.

"Fine."

I quiver. "What?"

"I said fine, Noah. I trust you."

"You trust me?"

"The Commune has already left the area and so have most of the fledglings. I know for certain you're not stupid enough to run off to find your family, but please correct me if I'm wrong."

"No. I know I can't go after them. Not now at least."

Avalon's eyes flicker.

"Noelle won't be attending you though. Ryan will be."

"What? No. I rather have Noelle or Seth."

"That's why Ryan is going. Being alpha means getting to know all your pack members and enjoying them all. I know you and Ryan have a rough time and a bumpy start but she's your pack member now. As long as you accept that you can't runaway from Seth then you have to accept that you're an alpha and all the terms that come with it. Also like I said, most of the fledgling are gone. Not all of them. Noelle isn't combat ready. She's just a swift tracker. So she's useless at defending you and Seth has work to do with me."
