The silence seemed to drag on. Cold, questioning, and disappointed stares were exchanged between the people surronding me. It felt like hours. I couldn't bare it.
"What the hell." I speak up.
Their gaze turns to me.
"You really can't hear us?" Luke laughs.
"What's there to hear? You're just looking at each other." I say in my defense.
"Telepathic abilities sweetheart. Get with the program." Ryan retorts.
"I told you she couldn't hear us Avalon." Noelle giggles.
"Sorry Dear. We forget you still haven't accepted your place, which means our way of communicating is still well off for you." Avalon gives me a weak smile.
"My place?" I snort. "My place is at home with My dad, with the Commune."
"TRAITOR!" Ryan snarls.
"Enough!" Avalon snaps. This was the first time she'd raised her voice in front of me and by the looks of the rest of the group it was probably the first time she'd ever been aggressive. "She has the right to choose who she gives her loyalty to."
"What are you talking about?" I question.
"You do know there is a war? Don't you?" Luke asks.
"Well Ya.. No one ever discusses it with me.. but I know it's happening.." I answer her slowly.
"Do you know why though?" Seth asks. His voice sends a shiver down my spine.
"No. Not really."
"Krivina Weapvlin, your mother's slave owner, she is a powerful demonic vampire elder, along with her sister Vivine. Their father scarfed their souls to.. to an unknown being. Forced to forever crave blood and live throughout enteriy, but living throughout a enerity gets lonely.. The began to come to the realization they need others. More of their species to rely on. They spread their demonic curse with fledglings. A weaker type of vampire.. but still mass murders. The creation of the fledglings lead to the deaths of thousands of innocent souls. Humans began to take action against them. Of course the humans failed and kept failing until a superior race was born. Diviny.. the rarest out come of all the human race..."
"Diviny? That's Charlie's last name.." I mumbled.
Avalon paused for a moment than continued. "The Diviny were stronger, faster, and most of all effective. The population of the damned souls decreased and the more it decreased the more the Sister's knew something must be put between them and the new race. They created Werewolves. They used them as armies. Killers stronger than both fledgling vampires and the Diviny but less powerful then themselves."
"So.. how did.. how did you get out without...?"
"Are you saying how did we get out of paying Krivina for freedom? We didn't." Ryan growled.
"Shut up Ryan." Seth snarled.
"No she should know! Not everyone has had the protection of Daddy to save their ass. We've killed for our freedom. We've left our loved ones behind to suffer. Do you know what that feels like?!"
"RYAN!" He yelled. "STOP BEING SUCH A BITCH."
She fell back.
"It's fine. She's right. I did have an easy way out, but that doesn't mean I don't know what it feels like to have a whole society look down on me."
"Don't worry dear. It's not your fault we didn't all have the easy way out, our journeys here are all different."
"So what's this war hoping to accomplish?" I ask quietly.
