"I would love to eat lunch with you!" I giggle. My cheeks are hot and I can tell there is more pink in them than I care to have.

"Great! Let's go get food and we can sit down. Sound good Mate?" He says. Mate. A word I will probably never get use to. Of course it is adorable when he says it in that small accent of his.

We grab our food and I soon find myself sitting on his left next to another girl. She glares at me. I keep my eyes on my tray, occasionally glancing up when Nic had a question to ask me.

"Have you liked your classes here so far?" He asks. The girl on my left rolls her eyes. I ignore it and answer him.

"Yeah! The teachers seem to be a lot better here!" I say making light conversation.

"Where were you from before?" He asks tilting his head. I chew up my bite and answer quickly.

"Colorado," I quickly say. I toss another bite of salad into my mouth.

"Oh I see, is it much different here?" He once again questions. All these questions make me feel like I'm being interviewed.

"Just a little, how long have you been here for?" I ask switching things up.

"He's been here for about three and a half years!" The girl next to me says batting her lashes.

"I cant answer for myself thanks Chloe." He says.

"It's just so hard not to answer questions I know the answer to!" She bats her lashes harder.

"This is Chloe." He says to me rolling his eyes.

"His ex. Though they are like best friends." One of the boys across the table says. I nod.

"Nice to meet you! I'm Janie." I say to her. She looks disgusted.

"I've never met a Janie before! Ever think about going by Jane?" She asks.

"Um no not really." I whisper.

"Oh. It just sounds more normal. You do you boo." She says. I see Finn as she talks.

He has hurt in his eyes when he sees me. I already know why. My phone sits in my hand. The text I meant to send him still sits on my phone.

He walks away and I decide to brush it off. Sorry Finn, I had plans.

Oh no.

I had plans. Plans with Jack and I never cancelled those either!
