I was in the lab on Monday, my last day before Mr. Anderson comes back from his vacation. I was working on a few corpse until Lucious came in. He rolled in the lab with nine corpses and told me it was all the corpse that were found in Freccia's Bakery. I forgot the more I kill the more work I make for myself, ironic since one of the first things I told you was how I believe in karma. Lucious had a very sneaky smile on his face, almost impossible for anyone to not notice that it was there. I asked him why he was smiling, he tried to shrug it off but I insisted he'd still tell me.
He smiled, "I'm just glad they caught the people they've been looking for." I could tell that his smiling was of a deceiving one, so I insisted that he tell me the truth. He sighed, "ok when I was little a little boy, it was Giovanni Freccia who shot one of my cousins."
I didn't know how to react so I just stood there. He sat then preceded to sit down by the other end of the room. I went back to doing the autopsy until I was distracted by a noise ahead of the room. The door opened and Skylar popped her head through asking if I was in the room. She glanced behind the door and saw me standing behind the table looking up at her waiting for her to come in. She walked in with her hair in a bun, she always leave two strands of hair out front. She was also holding a stack of paper and a folder. She looked to the side and saw Lucious sitting in the chair.
She had a confused look on her face, "J.J. what are you doing in here?"
Me and Lucious's expressions changed quickly to a confused one. Lucious quickly changed his again to a surprised one. He then spoke, "Skylar what are you doing here?" He got up walked over by the table me and her were standing by. We both asked her about the stack of papers she's holding in her arms. She told me that she got was asked by the station to help me with a future autopsy they were going to ask me to do, turns out there was another killing.
I was curious so I asked, "What happened and what did they find?"
She looked up trying to cluster the scattered pieces of her memory, "They found two bodies by the back of a French restaurant, one male, one female. They appeared to have been stabbed in critical areas, and one have a broken neck, the man appeared to have been shot. I didn't see their names yet, but have saw the bodies, they looked familiar, but I don't know why. They think The Grey Killer has something to do with the killings since they found a sheet of gray construction paper on one of the victims' bodies."
My expression changed into a serious one, "Looks like the murderer had a fun night yesterday, the autopsies I'm doing now are also from The Grey Killer.
Lucious was stricken with confusion, "How do you know The Grey Killer was the suspect for these killings?"
I didn't want him to suspect me so I quickly found an excuse, "It says right here in the reports that they found a gray sweater patch placed on the desk." I tried to continue the conversation while working on the corpse. I wrote down most of the traumas that showed up on the bodies. Except for the three men who got electrocuted, and the one guy who got crushed. Since there was visible trauma to the neck and gunshot residue to Freccia and the man who tried to shoot me I had to put it on record so it could go back to the office, I never rented a gun so they can't trace it back to me. Francisco also got the gun from someone off the radar so they can't trace it back to him either. Not just that but Freccia had so many enemies that it is almost impossible to find out exactly who is responsible for his murder. It was another check in this little chess game with the police department, not just that but I also have the inside information about who they'll suspect.
I went on brake after finishing the last of the autopsies and ate a bacon-egg and cheese by my desk. Lucious came in and sat by my desk, I was bored so I asked him if he wanted to play a game of chess. He agreed so I got out the set I bought yesterday and got the pieces ready. We started the process of playing the game and quickly lost half of my pieces and took half of his. I always say that the queen is the most powerful piece in chess since it has the most possibilities in movement. People always look at me like I'm stupid and yell at me that the king is the most powerful piece. Then they'll have a dumbfounded look on their face when I explain how the queen is actually the strongest. By the way what's a king without his queen. We continued the game and I started to put my queen and the rooks in formation. Lucious moved his pieces and called checkmate. I looked at him with a questioned look, "Actually I believe.." My sentence was cut short when Skylar walked in the room.
Lucious turned behind himself, "Hey Sky whatcha doing?"
Skylar waved then told me that she needed me. Lucious followed us to where Skylar was leading all of us. I asked them how they know each other. They both said that they met when Skylar went for an internship at Headquarters across town, turns out Lucious used to work there before he got transferred over here. We preceded down the hallways and Skylar spoke, "By the way, Lloyd, Robin called and said that she'll be late coming home today." I shrugged it off and we got to the room with a corpse waiting for us. I was shocked to see who was on the table, it was our classmate, Sean. I looked over and saw the girl who was also killed, it was his girlfriend. So that means that the copycat murderer was still going down their list. This couldn't be a coincidence anymore, they're obviously going after the graduation class. Sean's girlfriend being one of the victims could make it possible that this was just a playful killing but, it could also be possible that she was killed because she was possibly with Sean the moment he was killed. I preceded to do the autopsy with Skylar we founded nothing that could be traced back to the murderer. Skylar then founded what looked like a pressed-on-nail clip. It was black, had red crossing lines that made the black look like diamonds, and blue poke-dots that were in the middle of the black diamond. We tried to find out where the nail came from, we did an analysis on the nail and what was used on it when it was made. We then preformed the autopsy on Sean and founded a piece of paper stuffed in his throat. It was had stamped letters, I read the letter out loud for all of us to hear.
"Dear detective and doctor of Forensics, I can see if you are reading this letter then you are trying to find me, but I'm always one step ahead of you, you probably think that you're close to finding out who I am and why I'm doing this. Trust me on this, you are just at the peak of the mountain and there is a long way before you get near the base. I'll say that we've just begin and let the games begin, let's just call it "our little game", hope you have fun playing."
I cupped my chin in my hand and started to think, I turned to Skylar who had a worried expression, "We need to find this killer as soon as possible, especially with all this victims popping up left and right." Me and Lucious turned to each other, we then turned back at Skylar nodded our heads in agreement. The room was quiet for a moment until the phone rang and disrupted the silence it took a little but Skylar walked over to pick it up. She asked if the matter was really critical or important. Her expression quickly deepened to a more serious look, she then turned to me. She was moving her mouth a little but no noise was coming out. The phone was shaking in her hand, her mouth then began to speak, "The hospital called the office and they forward the call to here, I'm afraid to tell you Lloyd, Robin has been stabbed."
