KINGSTON
•••
My suite was cluttered with more people than I expected, but I couldn't complain. Whatever Migos song that blared through the speakers had everyone hype and on their feet. And the drinks I was pouring only aided in the turn-up.
I used my hands to pour while my eyes found their way around the living area that was only supposed to fit maybe twelve people at the most. Twenty-five wasn't so bad though. A lot of them were other basketball players and classmates so the environment wasn't awkward. Well, not for me.
"King over there pouring Henny shots. He's trying to kill us." I heard Cam yell. He was already drunk and holding on to his girlfriend like he never wanted to let her go.
"Nah. They're still getting their asses out tonight bro ain't nobody getting that drunk." I laughed even though I was serious.
"Well, where's the fun in that?" A soft voice sounded from beside me. I saw only legs at first. Long, toned, legs of caramel complexion that stood out in the mini skirt she wore. I didn't know her well, but I had seen her around.
I knew she was a cheerleader, but I didn't pay attention to anything in the gym but the game.
"I'm up here," she smirked, and I could fight the smirk that tugged at the corners of my mouth.
                              "What's up? Jourdan, right?"
"Right." she winked and tossed back one of the shots I had just poured.
Hennything is possible my mind spoke just before she grabbed ahold of my hand and pulled me toward a corner to dance to Juvenile's Back That Azz Up. It was a classic twerk until you get fucked song and I was almost afraid of what my living room was going to look like, but it wasn't my concern. My alcohol intake, on top of the ass to crotch situation I had going on, had me ready to risk it all.
"So after two years, this is all I had to do to get your attention?" Jourdan asked as she leaned her head back against my shoulder so that I could hear her. She had to be at least six feet with heels on but still had a few inches to go to be eye level with me.
"Oh you wanted my attention?" I questioned and she blushed. She was pretty. and although it could've been the liquor, we vibed so easily.
                              "I mean. Yeah."
"Well, now you have it. So what you gon' do with it?" I wondered. I didn't mean for it to come off as having a double meaning, but she seemed down for it either way. I almost took a few steps back and took her into my bedroom, but the view of my front door opening and shutting caught my glance.
I looked down at a ready and willing Jourdan and practically chomped down on my bottom lip. "Stick around for me. I can't dip off right now, Cam isn't around and I don't want my place unattended." I told her.
"Oh. Okay, yeah." she smiled. "Yeah, I'll stay. I need to go find my friends anyway." She chuckled awkwardly and I watched her walk off before looking back toward the door.
She wasn't there anymore. She was now standing in the kitchen, leaned against the counter looking around like she was trying to find someone she knew. I knew she was looking for Gia, but since Gia was occupied, I made my way over to her.
                              "What's up?"
She jerked around quickly and sighed before smiling. "Hi Kingston."
