SIENA

"Yes daddy, I'm sure." I chuckled. "You don't have to come all the way out here when he's going that way. He only lives fifteen minutes away from us."

It was finally time for Thanksgiving break and I couldn't believe it was really my first time going home since school started. I didn't realize just how much I missed my parents, little sister and rock head brother until I was packing up my suitcases. But I made it. I told myself I wouldn't run home every weekend and I didn't. I would never grow up if I did.

I hung up with my dad who didn't know how to feel about me riding back to the city with Kingston, but I thought he would be happy that he didn't have to come all the way up here to get me.

"We're only leaving for a week," Nikki chuckled and I threw a pair of socks at her.

"Mind your business. I need options."

"Options for what? All you're going to do is sit in the house." she chuckled and I rolled my eyes. She was right. The majority of my time home I'd more than likely be in pajamas and fuzzy socks getting on my family's nerves.

"You always have something to say," I mumbled and she chuckled. Probably because she knew she was right. It was crazy how I had done so well not getting too close to be people because I knew how bitches could be. I only got halfway close to Gia for that same reason, and she proved me right. But Nikki was different. That was my bitch and she wasn't for the goofy shit either. Guess my dad was right. I hated her ass when I started, but she turned out to be my closest friend.

"What you gon be doing over break?" I asked

"Alana," she said as she folded the tights and t-shirts that she left in my room.

"Huh?" I giggled and she looked at me confused, trying to figure out what she had said that was confusing. "I asked what you were going to be doing over break. Who's Alana?"

"That's who I'm going to do be doing over break," she chuckled and I pursed my lips together.

"What Nicole?" I chuckled. "What about Darien?" I asked.

"What about him?" she asked with furrowed brows.

Darien was on the basketball team and they had been dealing with each other since I had known her. I had assumed they were together, together. I guess I was stuck for a little too long because she laughed.

"I'm bisexual, Siena" she continued to laugh. "Darien isn't my boyfriend and Alana isn't my girlfriend. They're both just...something to do when there's nothing to do." She shrugged. "And when I get home," she smirked.

"Okay bitch." I chuckled. "So, does Darien know that you're going to be doing Alana over break?"

"Why does Darien need to know anything?" She chuckled. "He knows what's up. He made it clear that I wasn't all he was doing so," she shrugged and I stopped folding.

Damn, did everyone in college think that way? Maybe I was just naive and childish to think that you could be with just one person without the distractions of other people.

"I mean, if we were exclusive or whatever that's different. But we're not together. And the last thing I'm going to do is be tied down to a single nigga, so I don't owe him or her anything, honestly. "

"Hmm," I nodded.

"What?" she chuckled.

"Nothing," I laughed and shook my head. "I just...I don't know. You sound like...a nigga"

"What does that even mean?" She asked and she sounded a little offended.

"Not like in a bad way. You just kind of..." I began before looking her way, 'You kind of sound like King." I mumbled and she smirked.
