-Haru's pov-

As Makoto is walking out the back door, I run and grab his wrist. He flinches, but doesn't force me to let go.

"Stay the night?" I softly ask.

Makoto smiles, "Alright, Haruka!"

"Good night, Haru," Makoto says, turning off the lamp that is next to him before shifting into a proper sleeping position.

"Night," I turn my back to my best friend and make myself comfortable.

Since Makoto is staying over, I can maybe talk to him.

I look over my shoulder and see Makoto is laying on his side with his face towards me, but his frame is stiff and I can tell by his breathing that he is still awake. Without all the distractions of family and friends and noise, the quiet night lets your thoughts catch up with you and, obviously, I am still shakened by the ordeal.

"Hey, Makoto?"

"What is it, Haru?"

I turn my body over to look at him, "I agree with Nagisa, you have been acting off and it's worrying."

Makoto's eyes widen, but instantly disappears with a strained smile, "I honestly have no idea what you guys are worried about me for? I'm fine! I've just been a little stressed with school and swim practice."

I take a deep sigh, "Makoto... how did those cuts on your wrist really happen?"

The olive haired boy's breathing hitches for a second, but he quickly turns it into a fake yawn.

"Like I said Haruka, I made the stray cat mad at me on accident and she attacked me. It's really okay though. They don't even hurt that bad!" Makoto chuckles.

I frown and shake my head, "fine. I trust you that you're not lying to me, Makoto."

Makoto nods and turns away from me.

I look at him for a few minutes before turning around myself to try to sleep.
