The harsh sunlight peeking through the blinds struck your heavy eyes that had just opened hazily. You felt as if you had been sleeping for hours as your body also felt equally heavy; like it was glued to the bed. Your fingertips felt around the scratchy bed sheet's that weren't yours. The white fabric matched the equally dull white room and next to you, you could hear a steady beat that was your heart on the monitor. Your arm had miraculously healed. There was no more bleeding, no more pain, and most likely, no harsh scars. But mental scars were always the toughest ones to get rid of.
I used my quirk....you thought vacantly.
It felt strange to admit that you had actually let go and used it. The whole situation was hard for you to assess. As you recalled the previous events of what had happened, you felt as though that person who had used their quirk in such a harmful manner couldn't have been you. The real you must have been watching from afar, hidden in fear. But that wasn't the case. The cold reality was that you did inflict damage. You possibly even came close to almost killing someone.
The very thought chilled you to the core.
But what of your friends? Were they okay? Aizawa and All Might had thankfully shown up in time to stop the altercation as well as yourself from committing any other heinous acts. But did they. manage to save the day? There were so many villains before and you had just been whisked away....
Because I was so much of a threat...?
You swallowed the hard lump in your throat. The corner of your eyes prickled with tears and you could feel your face become flush. You let out a shaky breath, your fists clenching around the scratchy white sheets with great force. Your heart monitor's rate picked up slightly, giving away how hard you were trying to remain composed.
The sound of a door creaking open caught your attention.
"Hey kiddo, how ya doing?" Goliath spoke gently as he walked into the room. He sat in a chair right next to you where you noticed the flowers, get well balloons, and teddy bear's that had been placed on your nightstand. You stared at them awkwardly for a moment, wondering who could have ever bothered to give you such things. Goliath followed your gaze. "Oh that?" he asked sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. "That was me....I guess I went a little overboard, huh?"
You shrugged and went back to staring at the ceiling.
Goliath was silent for a moment, waiting to see if you would say something. But you didn't. So with a sigh, he spoke up. "So....what happened back there? You spent so much time saying how you wouldn't-"
"I know what I said," you snapped, eyes still not looking into his. "I made a stupid mistake."
He leaned back in his seat, folding his arms over his chest. "So now it's a mistake?" He raised an eyebrow at you. "Because from the testimonies the other kids gave, it sounded like you were completely fine doing it. They talked about you as if you were a completely different person."
"....Were they scared of me?" you asked quietly.
You closed your eyes, expecting to hear the worst.
"Not all of them..."
"Huh?" you blinked surprised.
"There were a couple who were trying to defend you actually. They said they could see why you acted that way so they vouched their hardest for you. They didn't want to see you get in trouble." You looked over to Goliath, eyes begging him to say more. And so he did. "It was the kid with the green hair, some frog chick, and the kid with the burn mark on his face."
