Cruel Intentions (Todoroki x Reader)

Chapter 14 - Reunion

The smell of your room was much more comforting than the smell of the hospital bed you were sleeping in previously. Everything felt much more cozy and for once, you felt like you were home. Goliath had helped you settle in and now, after arguing with the science nerds who wanted you to train with him right away, he was on his way to grab you a bite to eat. You insisted that you were fine with a vanilla milkshake but you had a feeling he'd be back with more than you had wanted. 

    You walked over to your bed and proceeded to fall face first into the soft pillows you had missed dearly. You wrapped your arms around them to bring them closer to your face so that maybe, not even you would notice the few tears that fell on them. You took a deep breath before pulling back and wiping them away. It was hard to think that everything was going to be okay when it just felt like it wasn't. If possible, you would give up anything to be able to show up to school tomorrow like nothing had happened. But so much had happened that just couldn't be erased. 

   You would be returning to school with the Hero Tournament being less than two weeks away. You could imagine all your classmates freaking out and counting down the days. Especially Midoriya. Knowing him, he'd probably be brushing up on all his stats and watching old hero tapes of All Might. You could see Ochaco doing some at home workouts to further strengthen her muscles. And Todoroki? You sighed thinking about him. He had been one of your friends who texted you often since the whole ordeal and while you were still in contact with him, you were still worried that deep down he was disturbed by what had happened. It was sweet of your new boyfriend to be so thoughtful. Maybe your doubts are all in your head but for now you couldn't just shake them off. 

You heard a light knock on your door. 

"Hey kiddo," Goliath smiled as he slowly opened the door. "I have a surprise for you."

"Surprise!!!"

You sat up in shock to see Tsu, Midoriya, Ochaco, and even Todorki standing at the doorway of your bedroom. Tsu was one of the first to rush up to your side of your bed and throw her arms around you in a big hug. The green haired girl lifted your spirits and so you hugged her back with just as much happiness as she did. Ochaco had then also thrown her arms around you in a loving hug, Midoriya standing by with a sheepish smile on his face. After the two girls let go, you invited everyone to take a seat by your bed or at any nearby desk chairs. Todoroki and Midoriya being the gentlemen that they were, took to seating in a desk chair and a bean bag. 

"I'm so glad you guys are here," you beamed. "How's everything been in school?"

"It's just gotten more stressful that's all," Ochaco pouted. "Aizawa has been grilling us more than ever with test after test. My brain feels like it's going to be explode!"

"It's because he's preparing us for the upcoming tournament," Tsu stated with a frown. "We've been getting a lot of homework too."

"Don't remind me," Midoriya groaned. "I just finished the reading assignment we were given last night. I don't think I could read another word."

Ochaco shook her head with a laugh. "Oh, don't be so dramatic."

You chuckled at the sight of your friends. It seemed like nothing had really changed after all. Your face lit up with a smile as a warm feeling spread in your chest. 

"I'm glad to see you're doing well," Todoroki smiled. "We were all worried about you."

You fiddled with your thumbs. "I was actually worried you guys didn't want to see me again."

"That's not true!" Tsu said. "No matter what, we want to be there for you to make sure you're okay."

"I know," you sighed. "It's just....after everything I'm still surprised that you guys want to be friends with me."
