The sun was setting, the sky now turning into a warm amber color as it mixed with the cotton candy pink clouds that drifted up above. Going through the beasts forest proved to be a greater challenge than expected. Beast after beast had been slain, with your muscles now sore from the whole ordeal. While everyone was motivated to reach the camp before noon, the time on your watch sadly read 5PM.
Your stomach was growling and you had become so exhausted, that you now had your arm slung over Tsu's shoulder as she helped you walk towards the camp. Denki was crawling on his hands and knees, desperate to reach the sanctuary. After what felt like forever, it finally came into view. All your classmates could do was muster small deflated cheers and grunts as your teacher came into view.
"I'm...so...tired...." you breathed.
You did your best back in the forest but now you were running on empty. You had just one blood pack left that was keeping you afloat. You learned one major thing after going through the forest. You needed to learn how to use your powers more strategically without literally draining yourself.
"Welcome back, kiddies!" Mandalay greeted, her ears pointed upward in a cheerful manner upon everyones arrival. Upon noticing all of the students depressed looking faces, her ears tilted downwards. "Oh my," she chuckled nervously. "You guys certainly did your best! You managed to get here at a very impressive time. I'm proud of you!"
"But you said we had to make it here before noon," Kirishima groaned exasperated.
"Well we were mainly accounting for the time it would take us to arrive. Sorry," Pixie-Bob shrugged simply.
"First you put us through all of that, now you're mocking us," Midoriya sniffled. "Will we ever catch a break?"
"Hey, like Mandalay said, you guys did great! Especially you four!" Pixie-Bob pointed at none other than Midoriya, Iida, Bakugo, and of course Todoroki. "One of you boys will make an excellent toy."
The blonde pro hero jumped towards them, Bakugo trying to swat away her advances.
"A-Aren't we a little too young-" Midoriya was stifled out yet again with a paw to the mouth.
"Mandalay, has she always been like this?" Aizawa sighed.
"She's getting at that age in her life where she needs to find a mate," she informed with a shake of her head.
"Great."
"Hey, can we eat now?" Sato whined. "I'm starving here!"
Mandalay grinned. "Certainly. As you can see, the kitchen is right behind me."
You took a few steps towards the camp to see a fully stocked out door kitchen equipped with dining tables and a few burner top stoves. You expected to see a large banquet-esq dinner displayed on the long wooden tables just waiting to be dug into. But the tables were tragically empty.
"Um....where's the food?" you questioned puzzled.
"Hey girly, you also kicked some butt out there!" Mandalay cheered. She patted you pretty hard on the back, almost sending you flying to the floor since you felt so drained. "Whoops! Sorry. Anyways, like I said, the kitchen is right there."
"You're expecting us to cook!" Denki gasped horrified. "This is just cruel man!"
"Yup that's right," Aizawa nodded, sly grin on his lips. "Things in life aren't always easy. There are plenty of times where a hero has gone through a rough day and still has to take care of things at home. So if you guys are as hungry as you say you are, then make yourselves something to eat."
