No One's POV
It's been 3 months since Vanessa came back into the picture, but Normani still won't let her back in. She's coming over to see their kids as much as Normani lets her, but Normani won't budge. She wants to make sure that Vanessa is not going to leave her hanging again.
As if she could read Normani's mind, Vanessa texts her.
-Hey, can I come over and see the kids today?
Nope.
-Why not?
You were just over here yesterday.
-I know, but I haven't seen them in so long. I miss my babies.
Maybe you should've thought of that before leaving me.
-Normani, you've got to be kidding me. 🤦🏼♀️
What is there to kid about?
-I told you I'm not going to leave you again.
You gave me this promise ring and left me.
That proves to me that your words are worthless until I can learn to trust you again.
-If my words are so worthless, then why haven't you pawned the ring yet?
I don't know, I just...haven't felt like it.
-Or is it because you still love me?
That's sure as hell not it.
-Then tell me what is keeping you from pawning it.
I'd patched up my heart and put away my feelings for everyone except for Marvin and then you decide to pull this shit.
-Well since you've said that, do you still care about me?
Of course I care about you, I always have and I always will.
You just....came back at the most inopportune time.
-Inopportune? What makes you say that?
Just as Normani starts to tell Vanessa the big news, the front door opens and in walks Marvin. "Mani! I'm home,"
Normani lightly sighs, before walking over to Marvin. "Hey baby,"
"You sound sad," Marvin says.
"Just a little disappointed, that's all....I'll get over it." Normani shrugs.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" Marvin asks.
"No...I just need space today," Normani says. "And some ice cream."
Marvin lightly chuckles, pecking her lips. "Your every wish is my command,"
"Just bring it in the room," Normani says, walking out of the kitchen.
"Alright," Marvin says.
