"Guess what I just saw?" Andrea asks.

"What?" Normani and Vanessa both ask.

"Marvin got charged for something else," Andrea says.

"Again, what for?" Normani asks.

"Bigamy,"

No One's POV

Normani is currently in shock of what her mother just said. "....W-what?"

Andrea sighs. "He was charged with bigamy Mani,"

"....What? Is this some type of joke? Some sort of stupid prank?" Normani asks, before starting to pace around the hotel room. "Maybe this is a mistake. It's got to be."

"As much as you want it to be fake, I think this is real," Andrea says.

Normani scoffs. "Oh please, the same person that thought the article about Vanessa being dead was real,"

"It was, she wanted it to be real," Andrea says. "Now back to the original subject. Marvin was charged with 4 counts of bigamy."

This time, it's Vanessa's turn to be shocked. "Not just one, but 4?"

"Yes, 4. F-o-u-r," Andrea says.

"Damn, who else has he deceived doing this?" Vanessa questions.

"If I knew I'd tell you," Normani says.

"Well, at least that's an honest yet blunt answer." Andrea chuckles.

"Whatever," Normani says, before becoming curious. "What site did you find this on?"

"The local news. It's like 2 articles on him," Andrea says.

"I'll check into it," Normani says.

"Okay. That's all I called to tell you," Andrea says.

Normani sighs. "Okay mom, I'll talk to you later,"

"Alright honey. I love you," Andrea says.

"I love you too," Normani says, before hanging up. She gets off the bed and begins to pace. "What did I do wrong? I don't know what happened. Was I not pretty enough or not enough? Am I really too demanding?"

"No, you aren't any of those things," Vanessa says.

"Then why would he cheat on me? There's got to be something I did for him to be married to another woman...," Normani says, trying to figure out what caused her relationship to sour. "Maybe it's because I'm black. That's got to be it."

"It's not because you're black, it's not because you're not good enough, and most definitely not that you're too demanding," Vanessa says.

"Then what is it?" Normani asks, before coming to a realization. "I've got it."

"Good, what is it?" Vanessa asks.

"You," Normani says.

Vanessa isn't sure what to think about what Normani just said. She's not sure whether to be taken aback, offended, or open minded, so she picks a phrase that can be interpreted different ways.

"Me?" Vanessa asks, but then her mind takes off. "You think I ruined your relationship?"

"Yes but-" Normani starts to explain herself, but she's instantly cut off by Vanessa's raging mind.
