Prelude Chapter...

"I'm getting a job."

"What?!" Was shouted and asked around the dinner table.

"I said.."

"We heard what you said Master Elliott. Just why is the true question."

"Well I want some normalicy in my life. So I applied for a position as a P.A. at Harrison and Baker."

"That large insurance company?"

"Yup. I will be working with a Andrew Riley."

"You sound pretty sure of that."

"Well Micah I let the CEO's know who I am, and so he couldn't help but give me have the job."

'And question my sanity.' Clarissa thought to herself.

"Clarissa your in change of thousands of companies by yourself. You don't need to worry about the affairs of common people like us."

"Madelline don't ever talk like that. And besides how can I know my employees if I don't become one."

Clarissa said as she stood from the table and said goodnight to everyone.

........

7am The next Morning...

"Aaahhh!!!"

"Why, why. Do I do this to myself!"

"Clarissa? Are you okay?" Madelline asked outside of Clarissa's bedroom door.

"No!" Clarissa shouted as she flung the door open.

"What am I suppose to wear Madelline? I can't look rich, let alone as rich as I am."

"Well Clarissa just wear, umm."

"Maybe a Michael Kors Blouse and some, Versace Slacks and maybe Prada heels."

"Clarissa I don't know what to tell you."

"I really think that this is the first time I've legitimately wanted to not be rich."

"Put these on Master Elliott and hurry. I have to get you to the city."

Hector said as he handed Clarissa an outfit and disappeared.

.........

"This Miss Elliott is Andrew Riley, who will be your boss."

"Only God is my boss Christian. Mr. Riley is just my supervisor."

"I never thought of it that way. Ok, well go head into that office and steal his heart."

Clarissa twirled her head to Christian which made her long curly hair swoop around and almost slap her in the face.

"What?"

"Show, I meant show."

"Ok Christian, whatever." Clarissa replied as she strutted into Andrews office.

"Little do you know, you've already stolen his heart." He said to himself

"Andrew, this is Clarissa Elliott. You two met briefly during her interview." Johnson Baker said to his C.F.O.

"I don't recall actually, but its nice to see you again Ms. Elliott."

Andrew was pulled aside by Douglas Harrison Jr.

"Andrew you said specifically that no matter how qualified any other candidate was, you didn't want anyone but her." Doug whispered.

"I know that, I'm acting."

"Ohh. Gotcha, well you can act all you want. My dad said I need to hurry and find a wife, and I might be looking at her."

"I wish you would."

"May the best man win Andy."

"Will you two get over here." Mr. Baker interjected.

Doug played around by saluting and shouting, "yes, sir!"

"Don't make me call your father."

"Really?"

"Not only do I have to work with him, but he's also my nephew." Mr. baker laughed.

"Haha. Ha."

"Well Ms. Elliott, I must leave you here for instructions from your superior. But I do want to just say welcone to the Harrison & Baker family."

Mr. Baker got close to Clarissa's ear. "Don't work too hard Makes. Eliott, you've got an Enterprise to run."

"I promise I won't."

"Ok, good." Turning to Andrew and Doug, Mr. Baker said his final goodbye.

3 and a 1/2 years later...

"I think my hair is falling out."

"If your hair was falling out, we'd know. There would be strands of red everywhere." Christian said as he turned to Clarissa.

"Whatever Santiago. I better go, your idiot of a cousin wants to see me."

"Alright, see ya when you sneak back out."

Clarissa smirked and shook her head.

She made her way to Mr. Rileys office, and as soon as she opened the door.

"I have several files I need you to take care of. They must be done by Thursday so I figured you get a head start and just finish them all.

"Ok, I guess that will be fine."

"Good. Well you can have a seat at your desk and I'll bring them to you."

She did as Mr. Riley suggested, and waited for the files.

"Here."

Clarissa turned to see 5 large boxes stacked on a box cart lift.

She looked at Mr. Riley as if he was crazy.

"Again I need this done by tomorrow morning."

"Mr. Ril.."

"Clarissa you do such great work, and I expect nothing less than that with these files. Now if you'll excuse me I have to get home. Its five o'clock."

Clarissa watched as Mr. Riley left out to go home with a bright red face.
