Gregory Vanderbilt
-----------------
I blinked once. Blinked twice. Max had a smirk on his face because it was quite obvious his dad had me where he wanted it." You've not answered my question miss stars.?" Gregory said.
I looked at my dad, probably trying to get some advice.
" Can I speak to my dad for a moment?"
" Take all the time you need." Gregory said.
I took my dad's hand and pulled him towards a corner, probably out of ear reach from the Vanderbilt's ear reach.
Max's pov.
What the fuck does this man think he's doing...
"What the fuck is this dad?" I asked once Mr stars and the girl whose name I now discovered was Roxanne left the room." You'd better stay calm and comport yourself if you want yourself where you are now." Gregory said.
" How could you call her. You even know I don't like her and we're not on good terms but you still brought her here?!" I said raising my voice.
" NOW YOU LISTEN HERE MAXWELL, YOU'RE THE REASON I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH ALL THESE PEOPLE. SPOILING MY GOOD NAME CUS OF YOUR SCANDALOUS WAYS.I CAN'T EVEN TAKE My SON TO A PUBLIC PLACE WITHOUT GOSSIP. SO IF YOU LikE YOUR LIFE Like THAT THEN Go AHEAD. ALL I Want IS THIS PROJECT COMPLETED." He growled, anger evident in his voice.
" What do I have to do with this?" I asked exasperated, running my hands through my hair.
He walked towards where I was sitting. Standing behind me, he put his hands on my shoulder. Now that I found weird.
" Oh son, your brain might be big but your senses are falling short. I obviously know that this plan will flop, and Oscar is the reason for this ' cooperation', so what I want is to get Oscar out of the picture permanently.
I cooly got out of his embrace
" You're disgusting." I said.
" Watch your tongue boy."
" You want me to put my hands into your dirty business dad but it's not gonna happen. I might not like her but I won't pull through with this. It's plain Bullshit." I said
" Say whatever you want but you and I both know the bill doesn't come free of charge. How would you like to work on your own for a change?" He asked, a smile spreading across his face.
" You wouldn't dare." I said
" Try me."
Roxy's pov
"Dad. What the hell's going on? First I don't get to see during Christmas, and now that you're here, this! No No. There's no day I can survive a day with that guy.""Roxy calm down. It's really not your fault but Gregory is adamant. He said with our simultaneous failure in the project, it would be a good idea to get fresh minds. And he recommended his son and you. Said you both were perfect for the Job."
" But I don't understand, if you made it once why not just make it again?" I said.
" That's the problem, quantonium wasn't made, it was found." he said
" What do you mean?"
" This project is older than even you Roxy. A little before you were born, a meteor landed behind Vanderbilt's lab. Our team of scientist were called to investigate the rock. We took it for a test. A series of experiment were made hence making it a solution none of us have ever seen so we named it quantonium."
"So what does this mean to me now?" I asked still confused.
" Well complementing the RTH-11 experiment carried out some time ago, the quantonium is some sort of anti virus. And we need to utilize that solution, and I thought I left it in the lab at home but it seems I was wrong and that's why we need your help." He said.
💡OH NO!
-------------------------------
I stared at my dad. Everything was falling into place. The blue stuff. That was it. The quantonium. Everything did happen. The glow, the changes, because of the quantonium. This is all my fault. Everything's cus if me. Now I know what to do. But how do I tell them what they' re looking for is running through my veins." I'll do it dad." I said.
He looked at me, a look of surprise on his face but a smile quickly made its way on his face.
" You will?"
I nodded.
" I knew I could count on you."
Don't worry dad. I'll make things right. I'm just so sorry I don't have the courage to tell you about it.
" Let's let Gregory know your decision."
