You chalk me up to nothing
Step on my toes and dare me to cry out
Work long hours in fields of punishment
Plowing through the whispers of failure seeping through in your tone of voice
I am forever never good enough
Always slipping up and working too little
You don't see me
Waving my arms for the approval I crave to have
So I tattoo free on my arm and wish it into existence
I am not free
I live for your pleasure
You cheers and your smiles
I live for making you happy and you aren't even my blood
I hold my mistakes against myself when the judge said not guilty
Because you keep bringing them up against me on the witness stand
No matter how many times I object
I hate you
I hate what I'm becoming because of you
A racehorse
Plowed into the ground by the whip of rejection my efforts are never enough to mention
Give kudos for a moment until I topple down
Then you erase all of my good
And leave me with nothing but your expectations

PoésieI love NoNameGypsy and Jackie Hill Perry. Poetic style with the slight peppering of innocence giving it that flavor I don't hear much. These poems are inspired by them. Love y'all.
