Matias' grandad, Mateo had it all out with his private plane getting us there. He said he didn't want to waste anytime which was okay considering he was old and patience wasn't a virtue. Oh wait no it was, but he wasn't because he wasn't a normal old man. He had my life in between his hands, and he survived 3 generations of his own just to see this happen. I began imagining all kinds of scenarios when I meet him. I couldn't believe I was more nervous meeting the old man than my arranged husband.
"He's not who you are getting married to you know? He's not an ogre." My mom snapped me out of my trance, and I quit staring at the clouds, and looked at both her and my dad. Looking like they were on a business trip. My dad was in a midnight blue suit, and a white shirt buttoned down by two and no tie, his dark brown hair combed back, the little recent grey hairs just a bit visible by those who knew. My mom followed his lead with the midnight blue, wearing a pencil skirt that hugged her slender figure, and a long sleeved white chiffon shirt. She let her straightened hair down falling to her back, her make up just natural. Compared to them, I looked like an average citizen getting out of her house just to get groceries at the mall. I put on my dark skinny jeans, a button down shirt of which I rolled the sleeves up, tied the bottom in a knot and, left three buttoned opened because I knew it was going to be hot when we arrive, and also to show my necklace given by my grandma.
"Yeah, but it could go wrong, and he's the one giving the rules. Do your parents know mom?" I asked rubbing my hands, feeling their dryness, and reaching out for my moisturiser.
"They do. " She said. "You could have let your hair down it's so long now, and changed your shoes." She said raising her eyebrows at my white low cut converse.
"So you knew getting married to dad meant there was a fifty fifty probability your kid would be married off and if you had more than one 100 percent?" I raised an eyebrow, and she nodded shifting in her chair.
"But you went ahead anyway." I finished, and if looks could kill, my dad would have had me in my grave. He took my mom's hand, and she glanced down.
"I'm so sorry mom. Of course it's not your fault this is happening. I'm just a bit on my nerves." I said reaching over to her and hugging her tight. She hugged me back. I smiled at her and turned to my dad whose look had softened a bit. "I'm sorry I suggested anything." I said hugging him to.
"I knew what I was doing you know. I loved him so much, and I prayed things would be good, and I know they will. " She said looking at my dad who returned the loving gaze. I slouched back on my seat rolling my eyes." Okay guys be happy, I love you even if you're clearly rubbing it in now." I teased looking out the window.

Right after we landed, we went to the Four seasons hotel. Even though Mateo insisted for us to stay at his place, I was on the other end of the line begging my dad to refuse. I wouldn't have felt a tiny bit comfortable. Right after we got in and put down our bags, my dad received a phone call. My heart skipped a beat, as he cut the call."Matias and Celia are waiting for us in the restaurant downstairs." He said reassuringly seeing the look on my face. He took off his blazer, and we took the elevator downstairs.
"Can I just keep calling them Harry and Shannon?" I asked hopping that would be the case. "Of course" they both replied in unison.
We walked in and I immediately spotted them. Harry dressed like dad with a black suit on, his brown hair laid back, with his arm around his wife as they stood up. Her strawberry blonde hair was up in a bun, her light brown eyes set on by her orange jumpsuit with which she wore black heels. They both had their widest smiles on, and I should have regretted being so casual if it wasn't so comfortable.
"Stella! Nicolas!" Shannon exclaimed stretching her arms out. She kissed them both, and turned to me with a wider smile. I smiled back, her vibe too contagious. She gave me a full on hug kissing my cheeks.
