I snuck out of the house, walking down the path in snowdin, I shivered from the cold and from the stares of the ravenous monsters around me. I got into multiple fights, and each one I flee. I hid behind a tree in the woods, covering my mouth and shaking as I heard the crunching snow under a monsters feet walking around looking for me.

"Oh human, where are you? we just want to invite you to dinner~" It taunted me, and I looked around for something to defend myself with, nothing. I froze and my eyes widened as I heard the crunching get closer. "are you over here human? I can smell you're fear." I started running, not looking where I was going. I was terrified for my life. I tripped over a log, hearing a snap and feeling pain in my ankle. I rolled over onto my back to see the monster walking over with a ravenous smile and an evil, low chuckle. "Time to eat!" The monster lunged towards me, and I moved my arms to cover my face until I hear a familiar chuckle.

"Sorry buddy, but this meals mine." I heard a voice say and then a noise. I moved my arms to see the monster get shot with a laser from a giant broken skull with red eyes the same as sans. The monster turned to dust and I watched as it spread and blew into different directions. "Looks like you've gotten yourself in a pickle heh..." Sans said looking down at me. I noticed his axe in his hand and became extremely wary. My ankle was twisted, and i'm pretty sure it was broken.

"Y-yea..." I muttered and I saw his grin widen.

"Well.... I'll help you with that." He said, raising the axe above his head. My arms went back to cover my face, but, I felt a slicing pain in my leg instead. I let a blood curdling scream out of my lips as I felt the warmth in my start turning to cold. I swear I could hear him mutter something before I blacked out. "I'll come earlier next time."

I shook, cowering behind the tree. I was cold and scared, of the monster and when sans came. The footsteps started coming closer, the crunching of snow being a dead give away. I stayed where I was, tensing up as I felt a breath coming around the tree, but a bone rose up between me and the monster.

"I wouldn't do that buddy." Sans said, smirking. The monster's eyes widened when he saw sans, turning and running off. Sans walked over to me, clearly angry. He pushed me against the tree and I winced from the pain of the bark digging into my back. "So, what made you think that leaving the house was a good idea?" He growled close to my face. I shook worse then before.

"I-I have to g-get to the s-surface... m-maybe I c-could convince t-them to send r-resources down h-here... o-or maybe I c-could break the barrier..." I stuttered as I cowered away from sans as best as I could. His grin widened and he started laughing, his laugh growing louder with each second, that he had to back away from me as he doubled over.

"Oh you're joking right?! There's no way you'd survive all the way to the barrier!" He laughed but stopped, frowning when he saw that I was very much not kidding at all. "You're... not? you... actually want to help us..? Even though we're all trying to kill you and eat you..?" he questioned, clearly not understanding.

"Y-yea... T-toriel told me that... things used to be better... this isn't always how you guys were... And..." I trailed off. Sans must've seen how uncomfortable I was with the topic, because he didn't push me to say anymore.

"alright..." He said, staring at me and I could tell he was wary if I was lying or not. "i'll help you to the barrier." he said, I could feel a heat in my chest and I smiled. "But there's no promises I won't take nibbles outta you every now and then." He stated, and just like that the happiness was gone. "I won't be able to always protect you either, understand?" He asked and I nodded. "Good. now let's go tell papy we're going on a trip." He grabbed my arm, teleporting to the house living room. He threw his jacket at me.

"Go wait outside." He flatly said, and I nodded, putting the jacket on as I walked out the door. I put the hood on and zipped it up, stuffing my hand in my pockets and hanging my head down so no one could tell I was human. I was quiet and patient, looking at the monsters that passed me. They were slow and zombie like. A look of hunger in their eyes. Each one had some type of injury, some with missing ears, some with missing eyes, some with missing arms or legs. I felt bad for what they've gone through. After what seemed like an hour, Sans finally came out.

"Ready to go?" He asked and I nodded rapidly, making him smirk. "Everyone bringing ya down?" I nodded slower this time, my eyes glancing around at the monsters poor appearance. "I can understand. We're all low on hope and love down here." He muttered as he grabbed my hand out of his jacket pocket and started walking. I blushed and opened my mouth to say something, when I noticed the jacket sleeve was long enough to cover my hand. Sans' jacket was oversized for me. I smiled to myself, realizing he wasn't trying to put me in danger. He really was going to protect me throughout the rest of the adventure.

We walked for awhile, I was really unsettled because I could feel the monster's staring at me. Sans must've sensed it, cause he'd squeeze my hand whenever I felt nervous. Finally, we got to a dark room, with a light blue luminescent glow around us. I was enchanted by this place, it held its own beauty inside of it, like it wasn't apart of the world around it, with monsters who craved human flesh.

"There's not a lot of monsters in here, if there are, they'll be too scared of me to do anything. You can take the hood off. Smart idea putting that on by the way." He chuckled to himself and I took the hood off, looking around, long forgetting the smell of blood from the jacket. I noticed that up at the top of the cavern, there were things that looked like stars.

"Can you see the sky in here?" I asked him and he simply shook his head. "Then how come I can see stars?" I questioned and he looked back at me.

"They're just stones." He stated, before turning to look forward again.

"Oh..." I mumbled, only know understanding how awkward and quiet this trip was going to be.
